Reviewed by: Ryan Leonard ,  Mountaineer , from Arvada, Colorado USA

Summary:
I have found that the DMM Predator ice tools are extremely good for all types of water fall ice and some alpine. I have been using the DMM Predator of the past five years after demoing and using many different ice tools. I have had no troubles since I bought mine beside the normal up keep of any ice tool. They are very well balanced to give you an accurate controlled swing unlike others that I have tried. I would say that these axes are not for a beginner because they are heavier than most but, I wish I would have learned on them. When I bought my axes they were $180 each and I feel they are much better than the black diamond black prophets(for the price)or the Charlet Moser Quasars and compact(45cm). All I can really say is demo many different pairs of axes and find the best for you.

Customer Service:

Reviewed by: Toby Whitley ,  Mountaineer , from Bristol, England

Summary:
I have the older blue ones. I find them very good particularily the feel that you have your very own pair of handles stuck into whichever fall you're on. These are definitly technical tools for the steeper stuff. They are heavy which is nice but the weight is spread over the entire axe and I would prefer a little more in the head to improve the balance and swing. They do have a good swing and the angles are nice.

Customer Service:
No need yet but I hear it's good.

Charlet Moser Quasars, Camp (old with PINK handles but they were nice).
