Summary: Great overall ice axe. Not too heavy, not too light like their lighter weight ones. Great as a dead man, and also prevents a dead man! I have used mine from my first glacier climb last year till now, loggin almost 400,000 vertical feet with it. So it takes a beating. It is also standard issue (from what I hear) with the High Camp Rangers (Sherman and Muir)on Rainier.
Customer Service: Have not had to use.

Summary: This is a great axe. Most axes these days have a flange under the adze that can dig into your thumb during long hikes. This is one of the few that has a smooth transition from the shaft to the adze. It's light weight is great when the axe is on your pack or in your hand. The slender shaft is also an asset when it comes to probing for crevasses.
The spike and head are prone to a little rust, but this can be remedied easily enough. I'd like to see this axe or any other available with a rounded spike like older axes used to have. This is much nicer when trying to place wands in hard snow. But of those available, the Pamir (or Mont Blanc) is the best I've seen.

Summary: This is a wonderful glacial mountaineering axe. It self-arrests quite well, and it performs well on steeper glacial ice. The axe is comfortable to hold when walking(the adze and pick do not get in the way) and the lightness is much appreiciated. I have been a little concerned with durability because of this, but it is holding up well from the abuse of a number of ascents. The forged head is prone to a little rust, but this is easily stopped by the application of some grease. The smooth of the shaft is also nice for boot axe belays, and although their is no rubber handle, the thin aluminum heats up faster than other axes I have used. This axe is also a very deal finacially speaking.
Customer Service: No, problems to necessitate this.

Summary: I've used this axe on a few winter ascents of the Presdential Range in New Hampshire. Though I don't think its the lightest axe on the market, it isn't too heavy. It has work well for me. A great all around mountaineering axe.
