Price Paid:  $200.00 at direct from La Sport

Summary:
These boots have great features and are light but they have some serious drawbacks. Poor durability. After summitting 2 14'ers the boots looked like i had been climbing in them all season. The stitching on the front of the boot is exposed and had been cut by rock. my friends recommend prophalactically (sp?)putting seam grip on them which would work well.
My major gripe is with the last. i own several pairs of la sportivas sewn on the makalu last. the trango last makes no accomodation for heel roundness. the back of the boot simply goes straign down from the collar to the footbed. therein lies the rub. unless your foot is square and looks like a box your heels will rub on the back of the boot untill one of them gives. i had serious bad bad damage to my heels during break-in.
so what the hell. your a climber. you like pain. i do have to say i am amazed with my other sportivas... Lohtse's are unbeleivably comfortable.

remember.. sportivas only fit narrow low volume feet like mine. you big fat foot people best buy elsewhere.

Customer Service:
pretty good. i bought several different sized pairs from the factory and sent back the ones that didn't fit. they were fine with this.

Summary:
I climbed Lower Exum Ridge in them, Mt Ranier with crampons and they got me up three Yosemite Walls. They were a great all round shoe if you are not quite sure what sort of climbing you enjoy! They did however wear out rather quickly. The sole delaminated, and the inner lining has started to fall apart after only 9 months.

Summary:
These boots are just the ticket for fast and light rockaneering ascents such as the cascades or rockies. They hike comfortably (I have narrow feet) take hybrid crampons securely and climb great. They are light enough to really move quickly over all sorts of terrain. The Trango Extremes I would bet are even better since wet snow isn't the best environ for the Plus's. They could have better waterproofing. I also have had a pair of K2's for years and they have both held up under the wear and tear of hiking and rock climbing in them even in the rough volcanic terrain on the cascades.

Customer Service:
I haven't dealt with la Sportiva on any issues since I haven't had any trouble with my boots.
