Summary:
The fit and strength of these boot made them my work boots. For three years they have been my best friend for all day climing and rope work in trees. standing on a limb takes a boot that can support me and my gear for hours and not make my legs give out. I think they are no longer made, and I'm haveing more trouble finding good heavy leather boots with rands now that light nylon boots are now takeing over (with leather pieces for looks). Good I guess for hiking but a slip with a chainsaw and thing turn red real fast. I've Heard the same thing has been happening on sharp rock, can't say it's a fact but if web chat is true then well who knows. I'm ruff on shoes and have cut rands on my approach shoes on rocks. If you find a clean pair on E-bay and want a heavy work horse that fits like a glove, get them.

Summary:
After trying these boots on numerous times and comparing to all other similar offerings, I decided on the Peak as I'm partial to heavy-duty leather boots as I'm not prone to blisters and do not mind extended break-in periods. The fit and finish is amongst the best I have seen. They are a serious "old school" mountaineering boot with some very high tech features; leather outer with very soft leather lining. The roller-ball lacing system makes getting a nice fit very easy. I'll be using them here in August on a trip to Denali, where I'm sure I will be just as impressed with these boots as I have been in all the climbing/trekking I have done so far. This model is no longer in the lineup so there are most likely some good deals to be found on them. They were priced at $240 when I was shopping for them - I got really lucky and found a pair in my size for only $120. Very high quality, very comfortable and highly recommended for those who require a more substantial boot than a mid-weight hiking boot. They aren't light but I do not find this to be a negative as they should last me 20 years or more due to their heavy construction.

Customer Service:
Haven't had to use it since nothing has gone wrong. I also ski in Tecnica Ski boots (Tecnica Icon Carbon) which have also been 100% reliable and comfortable (the warmest, most comfortable ski boots I have ever encountered).
