at REI Summary: We used the Tetragon 10 on a BWCAW trip last fall. This was the first time I had ever used this type of test by Eureka!. When going up into the Boundary waters I'm so used to going with out many exorbitant items. I was very impressed with it’s moderate weight, the quick setup, and large room at first look. Later that night I would be impressed with it’s durability and water proof capabilities.
That night we were hit with a large thunderstorm at around midnight with sustained winds of 50 MPH, and gusts approaching 70 MPH. There were times where I though we were going to go flying. During some of the larger gusts the side would cave right in , but would always bounce back. It even took a blowing glance of a falling tree with minimal damage. (This was later replaced at no cost). We had very minimal water problems, and considering the 4 inches of rain, was pretty good.
Love the tent, would recommend it. Customer Service: Good. Replace the damaged fly by the falling tree. Similar Products Used: Old pole tent...Big Yuck.

at Campmor Summary: We've owned the 7 x7' for 21/2 years with no problems. I did have to seam seal the fly & pole corners twice, though, before I got it water-proofed. We've been through several rain & wind storms with no leaks. The tent seams to be very sturdy in heavy winds when using the optional tie downs.
My only real complaint is the size. The floor is supposed to be 7' but ours measures 6 1/2'. My wife & I are not large people, but our feet touch the sides. This could be a problem with condensation under the right conditions. I've used it several times on extended canoe trips & has held up well. Customer Service: NO Similar Products Used: Eukeka Highlite (lasted 20+ years), Eureka Dome

at CAMPMOR.COM Summary: Some may think that this tent may be to large and too heavy for backpacking; actually, it's perfect. I have a medium frame build so weight is a factor to me, but sleep comfort and security is just as important.
I found that the Tetragon 7 provided outstanding room, security, and comfort for my wife and I, on a rainy and windy evening in the Taurus Mountains in Turkey. Eureka! listened to avid family backpackers when they designed this tent. Of course there's a little more weight than a simple bivy, but for some, it's an alternative to turn to for comfort. at Oshman's Summary: Our Scout Troop has 8 of these in service for the last 6 years. They get hard use every month of the year. While they performed OK when new, they are far from "Scout proof". We have to force GWA to replace all the zippers with large sizes. I am constantly having to replace zipper slides and splintered poles (did one each today). They are starting to get eaten up by UV. They Troop is moving to Timberline. Too heavy for small boys to backpack. Customer Service: JWA told me the zipper failures were my fault for having bought their cheap model. , from gainesville, fl Summary: I had reservations about buying this tent because of it's low price ($85). I'm a big believer in getting what you pay for things, but check out this story... I got the tent in the mail at work and decided to set it up when I got homw to check it out. I set it up and sealed the seams on the rain fly. A friend called and said that there was a tornado warning issued for my area, so what to do? I decided to put the new tent to the test and ride out the storm in it. The winds were 65+mph and the rain was torential. Two trees fell over in the neighbor's yard, but the tent held. Don't get me wrong it was a little scary sometimes but for the most part it was solid. There were a few leaks toward the end of the 3 hour deluge but that was only because water pooled where I didn't make the rain fly taut enough. I am impressed with how this economic tent handled a wicked Florida storm and I feel comfortable about my upcoming trips to the Smokies and Canadian Rockies. The downside of it is that its a little bulky for one person to carry for an extended period, but if you divy out the poles and fly to some friends it'll be no sweat for a 3-5 day hike Similar Products Used: Sierra Designs Comet CD Many Crappy Coleman tents
