Excellent, basic product--ideal for someone who is seeking to pare down all the "fluff" in life--and all of the over-advertised gizmo crap that's available.
Works very well in my small Cessna
"Time to go" feature very valuable for planning airplane fuel burns.
I bought a 12v lighter adapter and recommend that for perpetual use in cars/planes.
Note that using the internet to obtain free lat/long for airports is valuable for non-fliers, as well. (for driving, just enter airports close to your route--and have accurate, useful numbers)
(Oh, I'm a pilot--that means I have several--redundancy and all....)

I bought 2 of these (gave one to my son) about 7 years ago. Rugged, reliable and waterproof until recently when both units failed to lock onto satellites. Did something change with our GPS system rendering them obsolete or did they both go bad the same week?

Father got GPS as a free promo from tire store. Gave it to me for geocaching. Amazingly accurate compared to Garmin GPS. Locks on satellites and stays locked on under heavy foliage cover. Basic model without map feature, but accuracy is big factor. Directional pointers are always dead-on.

I used to own a Magellan Pioneer. I used that GPS to help navigate all over Lake Ontario in all kinds of conditions while sailing a 23 foot sailboat. The Blazer 12 seems like the exact same thing to me. Same features. The Pioneer nicely complimented my navigation equipment. I'm waiting for the spring to come around, when I can use this one for kyaking. "Waterproof" is going to come in handy. Yay!

This GPS works great. It is accurate, the coordinates are in sync with the landmarks on the map. You do have to walk a little fast to get a direction bearing, however, it locks on to satellites easily and stays locked. It lacks some of the bells and whistles but it is perfect when there are no landmarks. I don''t need it to map because I use a map and compass along with the GPS.

Lacks the bells and whistles of the higher priced gps'. Very user friendly, easy to figure out, and use. Gets sats. quickly and holds them well, even in cloud/tree cover. For a basic gps, to be used to hike from A-B this is one of the best for the money. Biggest problem that I found was that if you are using it to bushwack you must walk at a pretty good pace to give an accurate heading. I was very pleased and suprised with this.
