Purchased this pack for my 12 year-old son, as it was extremely light and forced us to make sure he doesn't get a pack over 12 lbs total, including water. This pack is ideal for this. We've been on five trips, and he has no problems at all. The hip band is a bit of a joke, but suits him perfectly. He's tall for his age, but skinny. The pack is also very durable and cleans up well. My son crawls through the mud and brush here, and the pack doesn't easily snag and the mud brushes off well. So, if you're looking for a back for a large child or small adult and particularly want to keep the weight down, this is a great option. |

This is the best hiking pack I have ever purchased. I was blown away by how light and still durable it is. It's only drawback is that it is so light, I forgot it was on my back! :) I have had it for 6 months now and am an avid hiker. I know my gear, and this is the best I've come across in a long long time. I didn't really miss the waist-strap. I usually don't use it and its just more stuff to get caught and weigh me down. Customer Service Whatever they are doing, theyre doing it right. The speed and reliability of shipping are unrivaled. Nice pack. I wouldn't even consider using any pack without a hip-belt unless you can confidently say that you're total load won't exceed 20 pounds. Up to 25 pounds, it's bearable, if you've got a wicked sense of humor, over 25, you're insane and must have no nerve endings in your shoulders. The Breeze is a very durable pack. Unlike the G4, and many other ultralight packs, Golite packs use a bombproof 4oz spectra-ripstop fabric (the same fabric used in the construction of Gregory's "x" packs). And with the improvement of adding a heavier gauge mesh on the sides and rear, this pack is truly "bushwhaker" friendly. Most ultralight packs couldn't stand up to half of the beating I've put this one through. Any and all problems with the first generation packs have now been adressed and fixed (with a smile nonetheless). A rucksack is a rucksack, it's not like there's a miracle suspension at work here, folks. If it feels comfy in your kid's Scooby-do school backpack, it'll feel like a queen in this thing. I use a full length Zrest as my pad, and it works well as a back pad. It does take up about 1/2 of the total volume of the pack, so it forces me to go as light as I can. This one's got over 200 miles on it to date, and will have 300+ more by the end of the month. I've seen multiple people make this pack last the entire length of the AT. That's just as durable as my Gregory. Customer Service Golite's cs rocks! They're still a rather small company, and fight for their customers. My first generation pack was replaced, at no charge, in less than a week (and that's shipping across the country). I've since heard nothing but positive stuff about their company, and after meeting Coup (the owner and founder) at Traildaze this year, it's no wonder. Two thumbs up. Similar Products Used: Mostly Gregory packs: two shastas, a reality, a Makalu Pro (on an Appalachian Trail thruhike, another GREAT pack), a few other misc rucksacks. |

I find myself in agreement with the comments made by the previous reviewer, Customer Service I received this item in about 4-5 days by online order, with very prompt and friendly customer service. The rep sent an immediate order confirmation by e-mail, and helped me track the status of the order until it arrived. According to my digital fish scale my Breeze weighs 14 ounces not 11, no matter, that's still extremely light. Anyone who dares to go ultra light must realize all your gear must follow suit in order for this pack to complement your back. Like the manufacturer say's, this pack is meant for about 20 pounds max. Though it's well made and can handle more, your gonna have sore shoulders with any more, due to the absence of a hip belt. Customer Service Fast shipment! I feel only their packs are worth getting, their other products are quite odd and excessively expensive. Similar Products Used: Golite sells their silicone nylon tarps at $150+. I got about the same tarp for only $70 from a small private outdoor gear maker. |
