Reviewed by: kkajino ,  Advanced , from LA

Price Paid:  $300.00 at Val Surf

Favorite place to ride:
Mammoth

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
1997

Summary:
Powerful, stiff, edgy, yet Stable. More tiring to ride than Alp, but that's not the board's fault. It definitely imposes a more aggressive style on the rider. Takes practice to gain complete control of this board; don't let your soft booties friends just take it out for a spin - a buddy of mine almost killed himself on it

Strengths:
Stiff & Stable. Great edge hold on ice. Feel like I can better trust the edge hold on this board than the Alp at high speeds and icy conditions. Quicker edge-to-edge transition than the Alp due to the narrower waste. Very snappy & energetic, hence less forgiving than freecarve boards. 57 length makes pretty tight turns. Short length allows for ease of manueuverability in tight quarters despite its stiffness.

Weaknesses:
None. You get good performance on the groomers in exchange for versatility over varied terrain.

Reviewed by: Mr. Lee (snbrd instr.) ,  Advanced , from Netherlands

Price Paid:  $600.00 at Duijvestijn

Favorite place to ride:
France

Riding Style:
Groomed/Slalom

Product Year:
2001

Summary:
Made my first Vitteli's on this board. you don't need to be concentrated all the time like on a Silberpfeil. This board is not very stiff but it has great torsion control. Very stable at high speeds but still..... sometimes it feels a little weak

Strengths:
The real strength of this board is that it is quite easy to ride but you can dig trenches anywhere

Weaknesses:
It sometimes feels too weak and when i dig deep i am afraid it won't hold.... but it still holds the turn.

Reviewed by: Larry Pierce ,  HardCORE , from Warwick, RI

Price Paid:  $200.00

Favorite place to ride:
Cannon NH

Riding Style:
All Mountain/Freeride

Product Year:
1997

Summary:
Not for the faint of heart. Super fun in the correct situation. Tough work in the incorrect situation. Strictly for speed and carving. Submarines in snow but in Eastern hardpack and ice it holds an edge like a magnet. Unforgiving and once committed to a turn you must complete it. I use it for the first few runs in the AM and then switch to an easier ride when the sun softens up snow. A whole day on this and I'm crippled.

Strengths:
speed, stability, grip, tracking, carving

Weaknesses:
one dimensional ride... if that is actually a weakness
narrow stance kills my knees
