I will say the shows are tight, uncomfortable, and seem to run a little small. If you work them in though they are great. You can stand on just just about anything with them. I like them alot and would recommend them to someone as long as they were willing to go through some pain to work them in. |

Painful is right! These things are made to fit TIGHT. The toe box is high-volume because your toes have to scrunch to fit in. Don't downsize more than 1/2 a shoe size - Paranoias run small. But there is a plus side to this toe crunching fit. Dime edges feel solid with these babies on, even backstepping. They're not super stiff either, so they are still quite sensitive. Great for thin, steep face climbs. Get looser, softer shoes for smearing, and larger, stiffer shoes for trad. Not especially versatile shoes, but they excel at what they're meant for. And for 30 bucks!? Can't beat Sierra Trading Post. Similar Products Used: Mammut Extreme |

The Paranoias are very uncomfortable until you break them in a bit... at which point they are, well, still uncomfortable. However, they are superior shoes. Performance is incredible in most conditions. I've found them a little bit under my standards are far as smearing goes. I wouldn't reccomend them for a beginner. |

These are the shoes. The only thing I have to say to people besides that they are great, is that if you are a amature these may not (most assuradly not) be the shoes you want to get. This is the shoe for the experienced climber, people new or just starting out in rock climbing would not like these. They are very rough on you at first but they do break in after a while, but they always put an incredible arch on your feet and can be painful to people not used to rock climbing or bending your foot out of proportions. Though like I said before if you are an experienced climber these are the shoes to get when you need to get that impossible climb. And finally, for those of you just starting out that still want to get these shoes contrary to what I have said I only have this to say "It''s NOT the shoes that make the climber, it''s the skill you put in to them that truley separates the experienced ones for the newbes." |
