Using detailed trail illustrated maps, genuine USGS 1:24000 and 1:100000 scale topographic maps that can easily be printed off a home printer, and the scale bar, compass rose, and GPS grids included on the maps, you'll be able to plan out the best route to victory. Tech specs, pictures, and guidebook-like information is provided for each peak, courtesy of the Colorado 14ers Initiative. National Geographic included tools to measure real-terrain distance, slopes, bearings and more. The Colorado 14's Explorer is MAC and PC compatible and enables import/export of waypoints, routes, and tracks with nearly all Garmin, Magellan, Eagle, Lowrance handheld GPS units and select Suunto wrist top computers.
