I originally bought a pair of polycarbonate glasses for fishing to save some money. Bad move. The Riptides have a glass photochromic lens, which is much better than polycarbonate. The copper lens is crystal clear, and the photochromic feature works even inside a car. Many reviewers seem concerned about whether glasses will fog--they all will in the right circumstances. The Riptides fit pretty closely and have a good wrap to keep out light, so, yes, they may fog easier than frames with less side protection. All in all, the best lenses I've every used. Customer Service no experience yet Similar Products Used: Action optics polycarbonate-my eyes had trouble focussing through these at long distances. Oakley polarized-excellent optics, but not photochromic, and scratch very easily. |

Strength:
Stylish looks Quality glass Action Optics Customer Service
Weakness:
The Japanese-made frames are of average quality. Higher quality Italian frames should be used in this caliber of sunglasses. Small fit -- not made for big guys Lens fog in warm weather, cold weather, or when your face is hot or sweaty. The Riptide are a nice pair of sunglasses. They are solid and durable, and the clearwater copper glass lens are clear and distortion-free. Beware, however, that these glasses are small in size -- they're not made for big guys and they're highly prone to fogging. Customer Service First Class and friendly.
