I have had my Observer Titanium for 15 years now and now is the time to change the strap for the first time. It's been holding together fantastically, and I am sorry for the people that has had bad experiences with the strap. I have seen none of what they have seen. I move outdoores frequently for fishing, skiing, hiking, canoeing, scout activities etc so the watch has seen a lot of tough use in both hot and really cold weather. And it has always been there for me - accurate and easy to use. Like everybody else I would like to have a higher wake-up volume on the alarm. Customer Service Have had to change the glass once and it went smoothly, although a bit costly. Have always had fast and accurate responses to my questions. Similar Products Used: Sorry to say I have never seen the need to use anything else than Suunto. |

The watch looks great. It probably is the best looking digital watch for this price in the marked today. The barometer function works well. It really helps to predict weather developments for next few hours.
Customer Service Ordering the battery replacement kit (€9) from their web shop is very simple and delivery is very fast. I have no other experiences with their after sales. Similar Products Used: Several casio watches. |

I have had my Observer for about eight (8) years without any issues. The accuracy is extraordinary, including temperature, barometer, altimeter and time. I wouldn't count on the compass or the alarm (too soft). The rubber wristband self destructs after just over two years. Buy a replacement battery from the factory so you get a replacement rubber gasket. |

This is the worst watch I have ever had. In less than a year the strap is basically falling apart. It is tearing on six places on each side. I tried using super glue, and it will hold for a day or so but then is just falls apart. I will never buy another Suunto watch, I'm going back to the old reliable G-Shock. Customer Service I called Suunto and they said they do not have a warranty on the band. Tis is ridiculous that you can buy a 500 dollar watch and only wear it for a year. The design of the strap is the worst I've seen, the plastic is hard and not flexible at all, so my guess is the exposure to the sun makes it weaker over time. |

I owned several of these. The watch is works fine for hiking etc. The overall durability of the watch is decent but not rugged enough for intensive outdoor use, and within 1-2 years the strap breaks without any cause (the strap is mostly plastic pierced with holes on all versions- stainless steel or titanium). The durability of the strap is very poor and Suunto must know it since it is only under warranty for 1 year as opposed to 2 year warranty for the watch. Strap replacement by Suunto out of warranty is almost $100 so you'd better find a better strap after breaking the first time! I haven't found yet whether non-Suunto straps can be adjusted on it.

I decided to complete my Suunto "Black Collection" with the Observer SR "Black Collection". I wanted a smaller more stealth size watch for under my hunting/fishing gear and it had to be tough and have bullet proof reliability.

Had my stainless steel observer for 8 years now. Overall have been very happy with it although there have been a few problems, but then I have had it a long time. It's had it's internals replaced and the casing on seperate occasions, I've gone through a couple of elastomer straps and a couple of batteries but it's still looking good after all this time. I mainly use the stopwatch, alarm (which has NEVER let me down and wakes me up every morning), the compass which has come in handy a few times but does need regular callibration and the thermometer occasionally but the rest is just for impressing my friends! Customer Service Always gone through a supplier in Scotland and never had any problems. |

This watch is very nice. Beautiful, light and confortable. The screen (dark background) is really easy to read, in particular in bright light. What I like the most is the philosophy: the important information is big and readable. For example, in chronometer mode, what is important is the number of elapsed hours and minutes, not the seconds and the tenth of a second. When you are in the action, you are not interested in seeing the seconds. The logic is also very
