I,ve rode freight trains on and off for over fifteen years. always useing camptrails backpacks the omega pack that i have now is seven years old, and has been throne off many moving freight trains the pack still looks new, the only damage done wasthe lost of a few pins, and the little round clips that hold the pins in place. I fixed this problam by buying stronger clips. I bought the small round key ring holders. Now I have,nt lost another pin yet. This is a big pack, perhaps the grandaddy of all externals. I am 5-10 and it fits me fine, but I doubt if anyone under 5-7 could wear it. It is well made with plenty of good sized pockets. The top converts to a decent daypack. I don't always need the room, but this is a pack that could easily hold enough for a weeklong trek, if you are strong enough to lift it full.
I have been very happy with it and I recommend it if you are looking for a pack that can handle any length of trip.
