I am very pleased with the Moonlight. It is plenty bright enough for finding your way to camp when you've hiked past dusk and weighs next to nothing. I think I would prefer it over the Tikka for several reasons. 1) Moonlight has a top band to prevent the lamp from sliding over your eyes. 2) Swiveling head allows for a greater range of view. 3) I have heard others complain about the switch mechanism with the Tikka, the Moonlight's switch works well and can be covered up while storing the light so it won't turn on accidentially. 4) It's more water resistant. I wouldn't reccommend this, but I once crossed a river while wearing the Moonlight and at times it was completely submerged. Luckily it still works fine to this day. If you're thinking of getting a lightweight LED headlamp, the Moonlight is the one to buy. Customer Service Never had to use CS. Similar Products Used: Borrowed a friend's Tikka. |

This great headlamp has been with me since Black Diamond produced it. I'm in the Armed Forces and this thing stays around my neck all the time. It is easy to direct light and is very water resistant. The batteries last a long time. The light is the brightest of any LED headlamp I've used but still preserves night vision. This has been beat up REAL bad and still keeps on working. It is by far the best minimalist LED headlamp designed so far. Customer Service I'm not in a position to use cusomer service, so for the wire disconnecting thing... I just wrapped another wire around the existing wire and connected the ground to the battery compartment. ...Works like a charm. Similar Products Used: Petzyl Tikka: The strap keeps coming loose when placed. It is not as bright, not water resistant, and does not swivel. Princeton Tec Aurora: It is not as bright. It is, though, water resistant. The s |

The best I have ever owned. Lightweight and very bright for close work, (10 feet). Great for reading in bed, just hike the battery pack up a bit. Forget about batteries, this thing lasts an unheard of 70+ hours on 3 AAA batteries!! Lightweight, bright, never replace bulbs, cheap to run. Do the math on the batteries you currently spend. This thing pays for itself! Customer Service I will let you know. I have the same problem right now with the wire cutting out and needing a twist. But EMA has ALWAYS stood behind their products, they have never failed me yet! Similar Products Used: Petzl zoom |

I have used bd moonlight for 2 years. It has enough light for reading. Two critical comments. First if you want to read lying down in your sleeping bag the battery pack is on the back of the head. Second, the lamp is cutting out, wiggling the wire or the lamp swivel bring it back but not acceptable. |

I love this headlamp. It puts out so much light. I 1st used this lamp with the scouts and I didn't get to wear it the whole night they thought is was so neat, they had to try it out. I cannot believe how much light it puts out. Its bright enough for any type of night hiking. When you are storing the lamp the on/off button is covered so you don't have to worry about it accidently being turned on. I would recommend this lamp to anyone. Customer Service snow leopard (online) has some pretty good sales throughout the year Similar Products Used: 10.00 walmart headlamp. (gave to my kids) |

Best Light I've Ever Bought !!!! Unbelievable... They don't call it Moonlight for Nothin... The light it gives off does really look like a healthy helping of moonlight. Don't be fooled, this little, and I do mean little, gadget is brighter than you would expect. After buying, and even testing out, this gadget I was worried if it would be bright enough for my taste, but a few days later all my worries were put to rest. I was at a friends house who was having some trouble with his furnace. When maintenance came over to fix the furnace she brought a very large "Makita" rechargeable light with her. This this was huge, and when she used it to look at the furnace it lit up a very small area rather brighlty and left everything else pitch black. I was behind the mechanic and wanted to take a look so I turned on my moonlight. I couldn't belive my eyes. The little light I was worried about illuminated everything, every nook and cranny. Granted her "Makita" was brighter at its brightest central 4" diameter circle, but the moonlight lit up everything evenly, allowing us to look just about anywhere without moving the light at all. Even when her light was on, my tiny little moonlight made the "Makita" look useless. If anyone from Makita is reading this I'm sorry to write bad things about your Rechargeable Flashlight. My dad owns one and loves it. Just maybe you should test out the Moonlight and add one of these to your arsenal. Similar Products Used: Mag Light |

I''m in the military and use this constantly. It''s extremely versitile and nearly water-proof. It can take a beating and keep on working. The light housing can be angled which is a nice feature. Will fit over a helmet if needed. Customer Service You will never need this. I doubt anyone even works there. Similar Products Used: Petzl Tikka. NOT WATER-PROOF! |
