None I got the Micro as a gift a few years ago. I am having trouble with the electrical contacts (I guess). It seems after about 30 mins. of use with fresh batteries, the lamp starts to dim, after I sqeeze and twist the outer ring it shines brighter for a moment but then fades and flickers. Even cooking around camp it just drives me crazy. I am looking to buy a new headlamp, but now I am afraid to buy any Petzl product. Maybe I just have a lemon. Similar Products Used: None |

Read the review from Chris of Virginia. Great lite duty light. Poor light if you want high intensity. I got caught out on a Grand Canyon, AZ trail one night with a micro and ended up having to feel for the trail with my hands on my knees. But, in camp, couldn't be better. I've used mine with two AA's for basic night/tent/camp stuff with the same batteries for as long as 3 weeks at a time (in warm weather). Weight and reliablity allow you to throw it in your day pack as a CYA backup if you get caught out late. Similar Products Used: None |

I use mine to Ski and hike at night. Don't use regular batteries, use lithium AA (Home Depot has them 4 good price). Regular batteries lose too much power in cold weather, weigh more, and don't last as long. I recently bought a halogen bulb for it, brighter but less battery time. I wish I could buy an LED bulb for it. LEDs R the wave of the future. I bought an LED AA flashlight at Walmart and it is brighter than my AA aluminum tough as nails flashlight. Ok, to clear up the low-light thing, Petzl basically wanted a small, lightweight light that would have a long run time compared to their other lights. To achieve this they had to use a low-wattage lamp. So, before anyone starts laying into the design, it was CREATED that way to begin with. It was never meant for hardcore hiking/mountaineering. Just something to bop around with while repairing your car or setting up your tent. I've had mine for over 6 months with the SAME BATTERIES. My 4 battery headlight lasts, um...3 hours maybe? Customer Service A great light-duty light. Thats it. Similar Products Used: None |

Great light for the money. It doesnt put out an amazing amount of light, but plenty for hiking, making your way around a campsite... etc. The only reaseon it fails is if you want to see something far away. Definitely get a Petzl though, not Princeton Tec. The fact that the petzls can be focused for more light in a small area is absolutely invaluable. I could not do without this feature. Very light on your head. If you have a hat on, you wouldnt even notice that it was there. If you dont wear a hat under it, the plastic sometimes digs into your skin a little. I've had a Petzl Micro for about 5 years and it has worked great. As others said, it isn't the brightest thing in the world, but it's good enough to get around a campsite. I've had some problems with the battery compartment stretching, so the connection isn't very good, but besides that it's great. I recently got a 'bigger' model with more power. Bought 2 more after the first one. One for my girlfriend and one for her 4 year old. It fits him too. Able to focus closely or use wider beam to try and find my wayward dog. Dropped and banged about numerous times, still work fine. Similar Products Used: None |

Primarily I use the Petzl Zoom but I have a micro that I stuff into my climbing pack in case I am caught out after dark. I like the small size but I have the same complaint that many of the other reviewers do: It just aint bright enough. The extra bulb feature is very important to me though. I can make sure that I have fresh batteries but bulbs can go out unpredictably. When descending through cliff bands from the top of a climb, I want to make sure that I have some light.
