Petzl Zipka LED Headlamp Headlamps

Petzl Zipka LED Headlamp Headlamps

DESCRIPTION

With it's retractable headband and streamline design, the newly released Zipka takes hands-free lighting to a new minimalist low.. Not much larger than the batteries that power it, Zipka weighs just a tad over two ounces--and that's with batteries!. Retractable mini band adjusts to fit almost anything, allowing you to put it on your head, helmet, arm, pack or wherever you need light. Triple LED bulbs distribute light evenly throughout your field of view with no blank spots in the beam; LED bulbs won't burn out. Streamlined design sets the beam at an efficient illumination angle. Batteries included.

Great headlamp. It's tiny and light. Although it strikes me as pretty bright, I don't know if it's bright enough for night hiking, but for cooking and other stuff around camp, it's perfect. The only problem is that it is very expensive.

Small, Light, BRIGHT extremely versatile - retractable strap allows you to attach it to branch, wrist, post... you get the idea. Cord length - will almost fit the around the diameter of a volleyball Compared to BD Moonlight, this unit was actually brighter. (both on fresh batteries) depth of field is lousy... but for LEDs bulbs, the max is about 40 feet... unlike a conventional bulb. Batteries will last forever, and when they start running down, you can always use it as a tent light for the next week! Good: Size, Light output level, mounting versatility Bad: too easy to lose! i've misplaced it again!

Solid constuction, although the switch feels a little "toyish". Good light output, but the lack of a regulated power supply mean that it dims and dims until the light output is less than usable (albeit after about 40-60 hours of use). Big negative point, it''s not hinged, meaning, you can''t aim it. You have to live with the angle Petzl thinks you want. This is a nice light, but I''d reccomend the Princeton Tec Aurora first. It''s got 3 brightness levels and is equally as compact, and besides that, it''s designed so that you can aim it at what you want. Cheers!

The Zipka is so small and bright it is a must for backpacking. You can strap it anywhere to give off light and you can read with it comfortably. Most importantly, it is the coolest lil'' component I''ve purchased in a long time.

Great lamp and very bright. Gives off plenty of light for it''s small size.. and white light, not that yellow stuff. One of the best purchases I''ve made all year. Highly recommend this lamp if you''re looking to save a few ounces in your pack.
