I really enjoying using my platypus whether it is with me on a day hike or at school. There is plenty of room in the Thunderhead to carry an assortment of gear. The 3 liter bladder is excellent for the longer day hikes. A friend of mine and I went for a 26 mile day hike and I stayed hydrated thanks to the large bladder. The only cumbersome aspect of the Thunderhead is the zip lock bladder top. Other than that, I am very pleased with the performance of the Thunderhead and it is well worth the money.
