I bought my pack from an army surplus store. I wasn't sure at first how it would hold up. But, boy was i suprised. It has lasted me through three 2 1/2 month backpacking trips. As well tons of weekend and week long climbing and backing tirps. It lasted through the British Columbian Mountains, and while in southern illinois I accidentaly droped if of an 80 foot cliff and it still fits fine. For paying only around 70 bucks for this pack I think I really got money's worth. Its a sturdy pack. Customer Service I had to sew a rip in one of the outer pockets but that was from the 80 ft. fall. |

For the price I paid this is one great pack. In Florida we don't have to have ice pick holders, and we don't have mountains to climb so this pack will do just fine. It's large enough to carry everything and is built very well. Yeah, its not a Gregory or Dana, but for the price I paid (Closeout) I will throw it away and get another if I have too. Bottom line, a nice pack at a great price. Customer Service Have not had to contact Camp Trails yet. Similar Products Used: Kelty, Northface. |

I just returned from my first Weekend trip with the Wind River. I found it to be reasonably comfortable and able to accommodate all of the gear that I could throw at it. I particularly like the numerous external pockets and straps which were perfect for water bottles, maps, filters, and anyhing else you want easy access to. Although it's still too early to adequately judge the durability (it is brand new after all), it appears to be rugged and well constructed. For $119.00, I'm very pleased with the investment Customer Service When I was shopping for the pack I sent an E-MAIL to Camptrails to get their advice (I was also considering the Camptrails Shasta). The customer service rep that contacted me was genuinely sensitive to my individual situation and (much to my surprise) did not automatically try to steer me toward the more expensive pack (which I ended up buying anyway but that's not the point). Kudos to the folks at Camptrails. Similar Products Used: None |
