I great value. The hips pads are really comfortable. It is a little large for weekend trips at 5800 cubic inches, allowing me to pack more then I need but that is my only complaint.

I've only had it out once. The pack is big enough, but just didn't seem to fit quite right. I've played around with all the adjustments and was only carrying about 30lbs, but never could get it to feel just right. Also there was a squeaking noise coming from somewhere around where the shoulder straps meet the back. I started to drive me crazy after a few miles.

I just got back from my first trip in the blue ridge mountains and this pack has been nothing but the best, it rides extremely well on me and the pack is fully adjustable. I bought it without even trying it on and i fell in love with it, recommended for the first time buyer or most experianced veteran.

I got this pack for $100 and it's been a great value so far. I haven't taken it out for more than 4 days yet, but it's been incredibly compfortable with about 40 lbs. My first thought when it came in the mail was that it didn't seem very durable and this is still a question, but it's a good deal for the occasional backpacker. Next pack will probably be higher quality one though.

Customer Service

I've used Jansport packs for school for a very long time.

I recently bought this pack to tide me over until I can afford a McHale (he he he). I got the pack on sale for $80 bucks. It's hard to get the suspension just right which is more than a little annoying. The hieght adjustment is held by velcro, which doesn't seem bomb-proof enough to me. Other than that the pack has worked out well enough. I've taken it out a few times since the purchase and it will suffice. In all honesty, I can't recommend this pack to anyone, unless you can't afford better.

So far, so good...The Jansport Adirondack backpack is a solidly constructed, comfortable, expandable, and manageable pack. I have used this pack on 2 seperate week long hikes so far and have had nothing but praises to sing. The pack is very light for its capacity, and has endured a great deal of tossing, stuffing, and hanging already. The pack is easily adjustable with the ladder system and the shoulder and lumbar pads function well. As a side benefit those two pads keep the pack slightly away from your back and allow excellent air flow to your back. I have added the kitchen and first aid modulars to the pack and the added pockets are a big plus. My only note of concern regards the stitching and fabric durability. The fabric is lightweight but with that comes a thin feeling and make. A couple of my seams have exhibited some stretching but none have given out. I'll post an update if that changes. For now though the trail awaits. Great Pack!

Highs: Good looking blue and slate. Lots of adjustments, large external pockets and daisychains. Comfortable. Lightweight, sized right for weekends and short trips. Handy zipper allows access items loaded on bottom. Lows: Mesh pockets enable access to water bottles while wearing, but the cord that secures the top of the pockets is elastic and doesn't grip round bottles very well. Count on stooping over to retrieve bottles after bending to clear low branches.

The adjustments on it made it easy to get the right fit for me. It was comfortable and I had no problems with it. I got it at the outlet store for a very reasonable price and was impressed with the quality and durability of the pack.
