Very durable, and fits snugly. Excellent when hiking through dense areas. Fanny pack works good for taking off for a day trip while out on a long trip. I have used it for trips varying from 5-10 days. I pack light, so it works for me. The daisy chains and straps on the side work great for tent poles, a fleece, or something you may want to attach, like a sleeping bag or pad. More pockets would be handy...I use the sleeping bag compartment for my filter, stove, fuel, toilet paper, shovel, etc. I put a Platypus in the top compartment with a hose running down for hydration because it requires too much effort to get a waterbottle from the side pockets. You have to pack smart, otherwise you will have to dig way down to get something, and that becomes a pain. I have found no use for the gopher hole. But for $90, you can't go wrong.

This was my first backpack, it holds a lot of stuuf considering it has no side pockets. I hate the outside sleeping bag zipper, I really had to push and pull to get a sleeping bag inside a full pack, I usually just top load the bag(and I use a down bag which compresses pretty small!) I have found that it is a good bag for weekend use, although I have used it on a few 4 and 5 day treks.

I have found that I could use some extra room, by the time I pack my tent, sleeping bag, stove, filter, clothes, food, ect. I do like the compression straps on the sides though, I lash stuff to them and they really "tighten" up the pack to your back. The water bottle holders are hard to reach with the pack on and the mesh is to short, I have had probles with my Nalgenes falling out.

I you are a weekend warrior like me who usually goes with other paople, thus using some of there stuff, this is a good pack.

A decent backpack for someone who wants to some more backpacking that the weekend rebels. The overall costruction of the backpack is strudy, I did have a problem with the internal frame bar pins coming out, but I fixed that by replaceing them with the ones w/ codder pins.

A great value on a great pack. I got it on sale for only 100 bucks! It handles loads well, but if you place heavier objects near the top, it will swing around like crazy. Very comfortable and adjustable. Nice colors and style- could use side pockets, though. Overall, nice pack at nice price.

Customer Service

My first larger pack and I (of course) got it on sale. For a 35 to 40 pound load this pack is comfortable with plenty of adjustments. The fannypack top is not very useful but thats probably true of all packs of that configuration. The waterbottle pockets are too far back to reach (or maybe my arms need to grow another 6 inches). A good buy at $130 (new)
