I bought this pack for Philmont. It was awesome. Once the stays were bent right, it fit perfectly. The pack doesn't wobble or sway, and the harness is great. Similar Products Used: I tried the Kelty Red Cloud. This is a little better, not much. Also tried Lowe Alpine Contour IV, pack rides cockeyed and sways. |

the slickrock is a great pack because of the compression system. the only thing i have against it is that it has on outside pockets, something very handy to have. it a truly wonderful pack though, and i am thoroughly pleased with its performance on many tough trips. |

I bought the Kelty Slickrock this summer, and have nothing but praise for it.The Lockdown sus.is a bit tricky to release for the first time, but once you remember to flip the velcro back,it's nothing to adjust. No shifting or movement of the frame once sized, and the harness is solid. I really like the Camelback slot in the back.Saves me from trying to carry more water bottles. The removable fanny baghas gotten alot of use from biking, and it to is reliable.I feel you gan get a more expensive bag than the Slickrock, but I don't think you are going to get any better. The only reason they are getting 4 trees is because the only perfect thing is a sunrise over Gros Mourn Mtn.in the Fall. Tim Customer Service I deal with Kelty everyday as part of my job,and their customer service is first rate. The know people don't want a product tied up waiting for warranty parts,or service,so there is no waiting around. I've tried several other 3-5 day packs, but the Kelty does it for me. Stable, lightweight, easily adjustable on the fly, and though it's still relatively new, seemingly durable and well constructed. I've also had a Kelty 10 degree bag for 17 years, and it's still going strong. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Eastern Mt. Sports, Lowe Alpine |

I've owned my Slickrock for almost two years and have no complaints. Once the lockdown suspension was dialed in, it fits like a glove. Kelty's unique compression system and hip belt straps deserve praise as well. You could spend a lot more money for a pack, but that seems pointless considering what Kelty has to offer. Customer Service One negative is that I tried to warranty a sleeping bag with Kelty and was basically ignored. I won't take trees off for this though. Similar Products Used: Peak 1, Eureka |

The Slickrock is great. The detachable hip sack has proved quite useful and the compression straps can tighten down any load. I haven't taken the pack on an extended trip, but if it works as well as it did for the weekends I see no problems. A great bang for your hard earned buck. The only downer is the lack of a side pocket or two for miscellaneous gear. Customer Service No problems with the pack, thus, no dealings with comfortable service.
