Great pack for the money! Seems have stretched a little, only after 2 years of hard use. Holds plenty for a weeks journey. Good features and an awesome color. If I could change anything about it, I would put a zipper at the bottom instead of the side. Overall, great pack. Similar Products Used: Marmot Front Point Camp Trails Night Song North Face Prophet |

I've used this pack for about a year now. It has been with me to the Grand Canyon, Sierra Nevada, Mt. Whitney. Similar Products Used: REI Tourstar |

I have been using this pack for over a year for frequent weekend trips to the Sierras as well as a recent trip to Alaska. It fits comfortably and I have had no problems whatsoever. The top pocket is great for quick access to items (trail mix, insect repellent...) and the side zipper is nice if you need to pull something out during the day. A great deal! You should NOT have to pay a lot for a decent pack. And this pack fits that to a Tee. I've used this pack for a year so far, including snowcamping/backcountry snowboarding. It's comfortable, well built, Simple. Everything works as it should, and there are just the right # of straps to adjust and play with. A perfect size for 7 day trips in summer w/ a 35ish lb pack, and for 3-4 winter trips. There are about a million places to strap on bulky gear on the outside of the pack. Water bottle holders big enough for liter bottles and lid is roomy (can be made into removeable day bag w/ minor adjustments). Similar Products Used: REI Newstar: poorly built, bad hip belt. Busted zipper. |

Good pack at a great price. I got mine for about $120 and I've been happy with it. The 4000 cu. in. are enough for a weekend trip or maybe up to a 4 day if you're really a minimalist. Very streamlined and comfortable. A simple but functional pack at a reasonable price. It's easily adjustable but it may take you a few tries to get it to fit just right. I'd recommend it to anyone on a tight budget or just getting into backpacking. Similar Products Used: None |

I love this pack! I was impressed with the retail sales $$$ and I also got a nice discount on it when I purchased it! I have enough packs to rotate them keeping them "like-new".. Customer Service I've called Kelty about some zip-clips on my tents and they sent them for free. Kelty people were very nice to deal with and I got through right away on the phone! If you like lots of pockets and zippers, this is not your pack. It has a well designed, streamlined shape and sits close to the torso. Took a while to get the adjustable suspension to fit just right. At 4000 cubic in., it's not large, but perfect if you don't like monster packs that invite you to take everything but the kitchen sink on your trip. |

I have had the Kelty Tornado for about a year now. I haven't put it too a whole lot of use, but from what I can tell this is a quality backpack for a very reasonable price. This pack is built mainly for short trips on rough terrain (thus the internal frame). It is not the most comfortable pack on the market (that may be due to me not properly adjusting the frame though) but you get what you pay for. It has a very nice size access zipper allowing you access to contents in the main compartment. Daisy chains abound and of course water bottle holders on the sides. There is also a very convenient top compartment with a key clip and a small zippered mesh pocket. One thing I would have liked was access to the main compartment on the bottom of the pack. But all in all this is a well made pack for the weekend adventurer on a budget. Similar Products Used: None |

This is a good quality, small pack that is perfect for 2 or 3 nights in warm weather. It has lots of external connection points and quality workmanship. My only complaints are that it's a little small for anything more than 2 nights in warm weather and there is no opening for a hydration tube. Other than that, it's a great pack aat a great price. A great pack for someone on a budget. I have found it to be plenty large enough to handle gear for four-five days, and if there is another person along to spread common gear, i think a minimalist could get six out of it. It has been plenty comfortable for me, and carries a 35-40 lb load with no problems. Access through the top and side pocket is nice, and the pack seems to hold up under all sorts of normal wear and tear. I am a firm kelty believer and this has not dissapointed me.
