This is the best all around pack EVER. From overnighter's, weekend trips to week long treks this pack carry it in comfort. I've used it portaging in Mignon Archipelago, Quetico and the Boundry Waters, backpacking the AT,PCT to the Southern Rockies to the Sonoran Desert. From 10lbs to 90+lbs its a treat to carry. In use for 15 years and will probably last another 15. It cannot be destroyed.

This is a great pack, strong and durable. Holds up well, not showing any signs of wear and tear after summiting Mts Rainier, Hood, and Adams, plus several hikes through the Sawtooths. But, this is a heavy pack as pack weights go today. Only problem was a broken waist belt buckle during a hike in the Boulder/White Clouds, field expediency provided a temporary fix.

Customer Service

Contacted CS about above mentioned buckle and had a new one in a week @ no charge.

Gregory & Lowe, both good packs, the Gregory was ext frame, tough as nails, the Lowe is great for short over-nighters, just too small for extended trips.

I have had this pack for a little over 7 years, numerous trips and besides the first trip, have not had a problem!! The first trip was just 3 days of hiking around my neighborhood with it loaded up to break it (and me) in. That got the waistbelt fitting and the rest of the straps and stays to where I needed them.
this is an excellent bag!! Swallows everything, great balance when done right. I can fit EVERYTHING inside, the tent, camp mat, sleeping bag, you name it!
I like the lower area seperated form the top, I can then place my down bag in a trashbag and load in any other things that HAVE to stay dry.
The detachable fanny pack works well for storing cooking supplies. Detach and you can have dinner started while you finish setting up camp.
Overall the best bag I have owned. I got it as a gift from an aunt that worked for TNF, so she knew what to get.

This pack kicks some serious hiney. It is huge, I don't think I've ever loaded it totally full, but it accomadates any sized load amazingly. It is super comfortable even when it is 45-50 lb. Great little detachable fanny pack and large, convenient sleeping bag compartment. This pack is a winner for sure.

I haven't used this pack yet but Costco.com is selling it for $139.99!!!!! And you can return it to their warehouse for any reason! I just ordered one today based the other reviews and the price!!! (They are also selling some Gregory Pinacle Packs for $89.99. Take my overall rating out of the picture as I haven't used it yet. As soon as I do I will post the review.

This is the first internal pack that I have owned and I love it. The fit is excelent with the adjustable frame. Sometimes it gets hot on your back but everything has its downside. It holds a ton if you want. Sometimes I have to limit my packing because it can hold so much. But once you get the pack on your back, even a very heavy load is comfortable.

I love the pack. It's easy to access, looks good (for what that matters), and holds a ton! It's a little heavy but you get everything you could hope to have on a pack...

To say this is a rugged pack is an understatement. I had this pack on Mt. Baldy when it was raining realy hard and the wind was blowing so hard it could of blown you off the face of the mountain. So I took my pack off to get the garbage bag out to cover the pack with. As I was trying to put the bag on my pack a strong gust of arctic wind blew the pack down the mountain about a mile or so. I figured that it was a lost cause so I just went up to the summit and came back down. It took me at least 2hrs to get back down to where my back was. To my delight the pack was like new! Besides being a little wet it was fine. I threw it on my back and went home. 'Nuff said...Go out and buy this pack!
