Awesome Pack! I got this a year and a half ago and still love it. Have yet to have a problem with it. I''ve used it on week long trips, three day trips, trips out west.... The best feature is all the tie on spaces. I can get my sleeping bag, tent, water purifier, shovel, pot, cook stove, water bottles, camelbak, and burkenstocks all on the outside without any problems. Its great! Comfortable fit, and plenty of room for your supplies. The detachable lumber pack is sweet too. I''ll attach my fishin pole through the lashes on the side of the pack, put my tackle in the lumbar pack, and be set for the week. I have yet to find a pack I like better.

I bought this pack to use on a trek to The Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. I found the pack to be extremely comfortable, even after I carried loads up to 50 pounds. The lumbar pack is usefull, and the wing pockets on the side are wonderfull for storing, rain gear, pack cover, or even fuel bottles. The cilindrical shape of this bag makes it easy to place a pot inside. The waterbottle holders easily hold a one quart nalgene and a disposable camera for easy reach. Everything easily accesable. Although heavily debated, me and an owner of this same pack once decided that one could carry 25 days of food in this pack with the right gear choices.

I bought this pack for my girlfriend to use with me on week long trips. It is fairly small for this use but you can actually fit quite a bit in it. Plenty of room outsid the pack to do lashing and the shovel pocke is great. Water bottle pocket work fine and the bladder pouch is god sent. Im trying to find a small set of shoulder straps for this pack for my girlfriends small torso

Customer Service

They couldnt find me a small set of shoulder straps whic really pissed me off.

If anyone knows where i could get a set or wants to sell me some please e mail me or if you have any questions on TNF gear.

Pros: A very comfortable pack, loved all the outside pockets.
Cons: But, the top compartment is very narrow! I could barely cram my tent and
a couple of stuff bags in it. There is no means to attatch stuff to the outside.
I sold the pack as soon as I returned from my first 4-day trip with it -- I'll need something
bigger. Otherwise, this pack is a good value.

This pack is great for all aspect of mountaineering and backpacking. Small enough to deter you from bringing unnecessary junk, but big enough for that extra food. The fit is great, seems to be geared for those with small waist. The internal pocket works great for a platapus/camelback. Shovel pocket is a must. side pockets fit a lot of stuff. Don't pay more than 180 for it. Look for it on sale.

I recently purchased the pack and have enjoyed the comfort and the space it has. I am on a Search and Rescue Team out here in Colorado and I need to carry lots of gear and this pack is great for my winter missions/training. A good deal for the price. If I am going to be out for a couple of nights, adding a side compartment or two will me all the room I need. I did get the XL hip belt.

Just got this new pack from The North Face(TNF) and there's only one word to decribe-Awesome! For starters, it's not too expensive compared to the other technical internal backpacks. TNF has established its products quite well in every aspect. The bag is big enough to accomodate your needs but without giving you too much weight on your back, especially when you intend to do a long hike or walk. The two little side-pockets can be very useful while not being too concpicuous. A shovel/crampon patch in case you are going mountain climbing/hiking. An extension of lid to accomodate more stuffs, a lid converting to a convenient lumbar pack, etc. It's definitely gonna be a great outing with this pack! By the way, the pack guarantees for life!

Customer Service

No encounters as yet, but it would be great if they have an official TNF website.

Great pack overall. best value for the money. Room enough for 4-5 day trips. Easy access through top and great zippered sleeping bag compartment. You may need a larger Hipbelt if your waist is larger than 36 inchs. I found the pack on sale at ebags for $199.99. If you access ebags through BisRate.com you get an additional 10% off. You also recieve free shipping and return if not happy. Total price $179.

Customer Service

Much of my packpacking equipment is Northface and I have never had a problem with thier products. Quality is still one of the best.

Great pack if you travel light and for longer distances. Great for winter mountaineering with built in snow shovel pouch. If you believe in orienteering with less than 40lbs on your back, then this is the pack for you.
