Asolo Cerro Torre GTX boots have been great so far. The ankle support is excellant allowing great off-camber scrambl'n. Sole rigity is stiff enough to give it that slight "mountaineering" feel but soft enough for extended overnighters. The Vibram sole shines on downhill switchbacks being the most aggressive downhill tread I have ever used. Downfalls: Not enough arch for my foot, seem to be built for a wider, flatter foot than mine. note: Replace the wimpy insoles with something more substantial.

I've heard it is good.

While the newer Fusion 95 GTX model has received a lot of attention, this model hasn't received its due. Best for people with mid- to high-volume feet, the Cerro Torres are excellent light midweight boots. Foot protection is surprisingly robust, and the Vibram sole with polyurethane midsole make an extremely comfortable and supportive package. Slightly wider than the Fusion 95's proprietary sole, the Cerro Torre's sole is still trim enough for precise placement; it's also significantly more durable. I wouldn't use either boot for the most extreme conditions (or with expedition loads), but the Fusion 95 does have a slight edge in upper support. Each boot sports efficient low-profile lacing systems. If Asolo truly wants to realize the potential of these three-pound performers, they'll combine the trim, efficient support of the Fusion 95 with the superior bottom package of the Cerro Torre.

Purchased this boots as a complement to the Zamberlan Civetta boots, which are a bit much for short to medium range hikes. This boots rock as compared to previously owned Vasque Clarion Impact(too loose, alot of heel slippage!)and Cabella's Trail Light boots(not enough rigity under foot; can feel rocks, etc.)Great traction and just enough flexibility, yet one could walk all day and on any type of terrain!

Excellent boot. Very supportive. Relatively light weight. Sole is just stiff enough. Very comfortable. Bought 1/2 size bigger. Lowe Renegade was too soft. Far superior to old Vasque boots. Great for weekend backpack trips etc.

Fairly light weight yet excellent support under moderate loads (25-40 lb pack, depending on season). Good traction (Vibram), durable, waterproof. Feet stay dry stomping across streams, through mud, etc. Just the right amount of flex, not a lot of miles required for break-in. I''ve heard Asolo Customer Service is responsive in handling any problems, but I haven''t had any yet.
