OUTSTANDING BOOT!! These are the best hiking boots I have ever owned...Period! They fit like an old slipper right out of the box. With very little break in time they were ready for the trail. Went on a 15 mile day hike in early spring with mud and snow. These boots stayed dry and warm. Felt as though I had owned these boots for years rather than them being their first hike. Packed several days in New England along the coast and once again they performed like a champ. Great traction on rocks (even on wet slimey rocks). Climed several 1000 foot plus trails and never had a problem with chafing, rubbing or blisters. Bottom line, these boots are great and performed in every challenge I gave them! Would recomend them to anyone who wants a VERY comfortable boot for mild to moderate technical hiking.

Customer Service

LL Bean''''s customer service is second to none. I returned a 2 year old pair of Solomon boots because they never broke in. Bean''''s took them back without a question and I exchanged them for the A

Having read the glowing reviews of these boots in the "Outdoor" media, I was sure I was onto a winner. The very idea that I could have a light, capable, waterproof, breathable boot with minimum break-in had me running to the store. In reality, having worn these boots for 3 weeks on the street before taking on 40 miles of the Kerry Way in Ireland and all of the Milford Track in New Zealand, these boots still cut me (and leaked a little) and are about to be replaced. I was blinded by the hype. These may very well be the boots for you, they definitely are not the boots for me!

Ohhhh...YUM! These are quite possibly the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, even with a 55lb. pack. With only about 2 hours break-in on city streets, I took these sweeties on a 27 mile southwest overnight. Scrambling over rock, trudging through gravel, these boots gave outstanding support and comfort at all times. I could not recommend them more highly. Well maybe - I wish they were available without Gore-Tex.
