I bought a pair in Jan. 2001 when I was preparing for a hike on the Appalachian Trail in New England. Wore them for 400 miles on easy trails, then had them resoled and wore them for 600 RUGGED miles on the AT with 30-40 pounds on my back. Easy break-in, very comfortable, plenty of support, they held up to the rocks and roots of Northern New England, the tread grips on wet (and dry) rock, and the Gore-tex lining kept my feet dry in all but day-long rain. I am trying to have my current pair resoled again, but they're pretty beat up now after 1000 miles and if the resole place tells me they're too far gone, I'll gladly buy another pair.

I tried these on by mistake when looking for the Fusion 95. They fit beautifully and felt already broken in. Have had no trouble with them at all on the AT on in the Cohutta Wilderness. Put two coats of Nikwax on them and water beads off when crossing streams and low rivers. Did try on the FX95 but bought the 290.

Day Hiker

this product impressed me very much and i bought them even though there were no reviews about this product. it sounds like a dream product and feels and looks like one too. i never actually hiked in these bc for one i bought a half size to small and for another i found a wonderful deal somewhere else, but i think if something else hadnt suddenly gone on sale they wouldve been a great deal, if returned for correct size. the wrong size was only slight and i walked around in these for a few hours. they felt like athletic shoes but also felt extremely stable. they are worth trying on for their wonderful feel and better price than many boots of this build level. but the dreamy advertising seems a little over the top and im gonna go with a little more classic style boot. these would definately be good for a day hiker or weekender.
