I got these boots a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed hiking in them. There was little to no break in required and the boots fit my hard to fit feet with very little problem. I decided on the Meridian so I could use two pair of socks. I have problems with rolling over my ankle, but these boots give me great support. They also don't feel heavy like some of the leather boots I've tried. The only thing I wonder about is the sole of the boot. The traction is good when it's a dry/hardpack trail, but in the goop, these are only ok.

Great backpacking boot. Great ankle support but was hard to break in. Got multiple blisters when first used, but was my fault for not using the sock liner tecknique. They are warm durring the winter and cool durring the summer. The sole has a good grip on wet surfaces and rocks and they keep my feet very dry. Downside: Broke the lace clips 3 times and when walking in snow the tongue just eats snow, but other then than great boot.

Had the boots for about 4 years now. Comfortable but the sole is stiff with good ankle support so it makes a good backpacking boot. My feet feel secure in this boot. Sole is not as sticky as Vibram so slickrock scrambling is abit more tricky. Another concern is that the calf area of the boot isn't so snug even if I really yank on the laces-- rocks and trail stuff finds it's way down into the boot pretty often.

I mainly use these boots to fight forest fires. The fit on my first pair was spectacular but after six months of hard use, the sole started to separate; sent them back and Asolo replaced them. The new boots don't fit as well but seem to be better made. One complaint is the way that debris gets into the boots; after a fire, my socks and inner boot are always full of detritus. Overall I am happy

Customer Service

I sent my first pair to be repaired and Asolo sent me a new pair. The new pair don't fit as well as the old but the durability seems to be improved

I also wear La Sportiva Makalus as spare boots. These are not as durable as the Makalus but they are more comfortable.

Had a lot of problems with the bottom of my feet and the toes when I was hiking for more than ten km. Used the boots for approximately 100 km hoping to brake in the boots but this never happened. These boots are almost new but I can't wear them anymore.

Customer Service

I have talked with two Asolo representatives and the local store has talked to one . At this time nothing as been done and they are asking that I buy soles for the boots. They are also saying that I might have bought the wrong size of boots . I have bought several pairs of hiking boots , shoes , regular boots... before, so I do not agree with that comments .

I have owned my Longitudes for about two years now and am quite satisfied with how they have performed thus far. Thank goodness there is a boot that fits my narrow foot as well as these do. The pulleys make cinching them up easier. My only concern is the weight which does accumlate after a long hike. On the other side of the coin, these babies are bomb proof and extremely water proof. I got a great deal on these at REI-Outlet.com for $60.

Customer Service

I emailed Asolo to find which water proofer they recommended and it took them quite a long time to respond.

Finally someone has brought out a boot for people with BIG feet! My Latitudes have served me for at least 800 kms. and still look brand new. Warm in the winter, relatively cool in the summer, dry in ther rain, and loads of padding from top to bottom. My record day in these boots was 42kms with about 70lbs on my back. I couldn't believe how good my feet felt at the end of the walk. The lacing system is the best I've seen as far as durability and ease of use, other than a small problem with the tongue loosening over time. Awesome ankle support on any surface, as well as grippy yet stiff soles that really spread the weight out evenly. Great overall performance and durability.

These are tough. Aside from being hot, they handle everything you can throw at them and then some!!!

Customer Service

External frame broke on first pair 2days into a trek. WArranty covered immediately, and since then have been going strong.

Purchased the Meridians about two years ago and have used them in all kinds of conditions. The boot has not let me down. The durability was in question when I first purchased them because the rand seperated from the upper at the fore foot flex point. The seperation was small and didn't increase in size from the original seperation. I decided it was more a cosmetic flaw than a functional flaw. I was correct and the boot has performed to my expectations since day one.

Customer Service

I contacted Asolo about the rand seperation and they sugested I send them back for repair or replacement. For what ever reason I didn't, but over all the customer service was very helpful.

Best boot I've owned so far. I have very narrow feet and these boots adapted perfectly. Had major problems with ankle bite on the original version of this boot. Sent them back to Asolo a year after purchase and they sent me the latest model (integrated bioframe) free no questions asked. The new model (shown in pic) are flawless. They didn't just fix the bioframe problem they also redesigned the the way the boot is stitched for better flexibility and comfort. The soles were narrowed slightly too. First company I know of to use the pully type eyelets. A very inovative boot overall with the latest model having all the glitches worked out. As far as temperature goes they are very accomidating. Good insulation on colder days, nice wicking characteristics on hot days. If any boot out there is waterproof it is the Globaline. I use nikwax's waterbase protectant (applied while boot is wet) and could stand in a stream all day long if I wanted to. I tried to time its waterproofness one day by standing in a river but as it reached the 8min. mark I got bored and gave it up. Trust me, they are VERY waterproof (at least when treated). There is no break-in time with this boot. I have talked 2 people into buying this boot just prior to seperate trips and neither had any problems (35+miles 75lb loads). This is one characteristic of the Globalines that really impresses me.

Customer Service

A major key to any boot is how it fits you. We all have different shaped feet so what is good for one person might not be good for another. That's one reason I really liked the different volume choices in the Globaline series. Sometimes it's hard to tell if a boot will cause you problems just by trying them on in the store. Choosing a reliable company who will work with you and your problems or refund your money is important.
