What a difference a season makes! But for the fact that Asolo doesn't appear to make this boot anymore, I'd encourage you to disregard my previous review (if you see them on clearance or something and are tempted, read on). I'll stand by my previous comments on comfort - the boots fit like a glove and I never got a blister. However, after only 3 backpacking trips and a handful of day hikes the GoreTex went south in a hurry. The right boot completely soaked through after only about 45 minutes of rain and the left boot was merely damp on the first hike of this season. Plus the boots got real soft, real quick. Customer Service Very difficult time finding a number to call, much less actually speaking with a person. Letter(s) and e-mail(s) to the company went unreturned. Web site omits a link for US customers. You be the judge. Similar Products Used: None |

These boots are great. I broke them in for about 1 hour the day before going on a 3 day 24 mile backpacking trip w/ a fairly heavy pack. The boots kept my feet dry through numerous creek crossing (and dried very quickly one time water went in over the top) and provided solid, comfortable support through some fairly rugged terrain. Even w/ practically no break in time, I had no blisters (wife wore Vasque Clarion GTX that she's had for a couple of seasons and has numerous blisters). And all this for only $120 - a very, very good value. Similar Products Used: Reebock day hikers. |
