After 15 years, countless hikes/hunts and miles on them. It's time for a new pair! I wouldn't consider buying anything else. Been a great boot! |

I bought these boots 1 month ago. They are great quality and fit nice in the foot area. If you have skinny ankles they do not have enough support. It would be nice to have more ankle padding so they could be used for heavy duty hiking. Similar Products Used: Merrell Summit II, that I had for 10 years. They were great boots, but the soles wore out. |

Weakness:
None Took the Explorers on their first trip this past weekend - about fourteen miles carrying about forty pounds. They broke in faster than any other full leather backpacking boot I''ve owned. They seem indestructable as well. Like other Danners, fit is narrow overall. They were perfect for me. Held better going downhill than anything else I''ve used. Over the weekend I got the distinct feeling that this will be the only pair of hiking boots I own for a very long time. Customer Service I ordered mine directly from Danner, and the staff was very helpful. Similar Products Used: Vasque, Merrell. |

I've had the Explorer for several months and am looking forward to their first big trip. They broke in to my feet in about two weeks of knocking around. Maybe 5 miles of walking. Very comfortable. Much better ankle support than the Mountain Light (and a little lighter). If they hold up to the trail, they'll be great. Similar Products Used: None |
