Well, I'm back to finish the review as promised. These boots held up quite admirably to all the abuse they went through on that trip. It rained all four days and these boots shed much of the water. Even in my stupidity when I left them uncovered and had to pour 3 inches of water from each boot they stayed relatively unharmed by all the rain. They did dry out towards the end of the trip when the sun broke through the clouds. The boots themselves are fairly impervious to water. I crossed several streams and creeks and they remained dry. They only started to acquire water when I took them off and the condensation and my own stupidity allowed them to fill with water. If you're looking for a quite serious mountaineering boot for warm weather, these are your boot. They performed climbing very well and descents even better. The soles stuck to the wet shale like superglue and the construction insured that even though I had a 50# pack on my ankles were firmly seated and secure. These boots get 2 thumbs up and 5 coniferous trees.

I've owned these boots for about 1 week now and I'm taking them on a 4 day hike through Devil's Path this weekend in the Catskills. So far I've been breaking them in and performing loading test to ensure I don't head out without them properly broken in and fitted.

These boots so far have held up admirably to heavy loading. If you plan on going with alot of gear or just alot of weight in general, these boots can hold up. I've found it impossible to cause my ankles turn. The heel counters hold me snugly in place and the stiff sides and steel shank keep my foot encased in a comfortable way. The rocker action is a nice feature my previous boots have not had. This is my first pair of serious mountaineering boots and so far I am quite impressed. I will post a detailed report after my memorial weekend trip is over. I've not thoroughly tested them for wet conditions, but they seems to have thus far survived my tests in the rain with my new rain gear. All in all I'd say I've gotten my money's worth so far. They're crampon compatible, which is a plus for us ice hikers. I'll be testing their crampon ability this Thanksgiving when I head north towards the Candian border.

For now they're getting 5 stars for both value and rating.
If that changes over this next trip I'll be sure to post it up.
