Great shoes! These can handle a moderate pack load and still give adequate support and protection from rocks. The soles seem to be very hard wearing. I've used mine for a year now -lots of day hiking, and around town stuff, too, and they're hardly showing any sole wear at all. The uppers are equally tough, too. Being almost full Nubuk uppers, they can be Nikwax'd for a surprising degree of waterproofness. They did take a short break-in period, and are not the lightest or most agile shoe on the market, but if you're looking for a durable, supportive shoe for easy to moderate terrain, these will fit the bill much better than most of the light hikers and trail runners out there. Customer Service Cute! Similar Products Used: Nike, Vasque, and Merrell trail shoes |

I just purchased my 3rd pair. What a great everyday shoe as well as a hiker. Durable and very comfortable. |

Yes, these are very comfortable shoes. I loved them from the minute I put them on but.....The first time I went out on a hike I slipped a couple of times. I didn't think anything about that. I went a couple of more times and slipped some more. Then I was convinced that the traction on these shoes was somewhat lacking. Customer Service Haven't used them. Similar Products Used: Hi-Tec Altitude - Purchased these second. Traction is REALLY good. Comfortable shoe. Would purchase these again (not the Lowas'). |

These shoes are wonderful. After wearing a hole through the sole of my over priced Vasque Sundowners in on 50 days of hiking, I purchased the shoes and hiked 260 miles across Maine to finish the AT. I will never wear a boot again. These shoes are sturdy, tough, and feel great. I wore them right out of the box and did not have a single blister. Customer Service Haven't need it! |

These shoes quite literally saved my feet. I had been hiking in my trusty old Scarpa Trionics when I slammed my toe into a rock. I could not walk on that foot and eventually lost the nail. It was a mess. Being miles from home, in Moab, UT, I was desperate. I ended up getting these Lowas and spending a lot more than I anticipated; BUT, they were worth every penny! I was able to get a longer shoe to protect my damaged toe and still get a great fit. Perhaps they are cut a little narrower than most. I gave away the Trionics to a fellow at a trailhead and didn’t bother to replace the heavier boot for two years. I just used the Lowas for everything. Recently I got a pair of Asolo 535s, but I still wear the Lowas for knocking around or for hikes. This is one comfortable shoe and has proven very durable. Similar Products Used: Merrell trail shoes- much cheaper ($50) and shouldn’t be compared to the quality of the Lowa. |
