Well, i'm reviewing this product on behalf of my gf. I'm glad i choose this boot for her. She formerly uses a Reebok Vyrazon hiking boot, it's breaking a part after a few years of usage. With these new boots with features like Vibram Edge outsole, high cut upper, proper support for the ankle and better stability... features that one would expect from the Merrell brand, i find that my gf with her new confidence and new Eagle boots can climb with less feet injuries and able to trek downwards much faster as we went on a tough traverse covering 3 mountains in the main range in Malaysia for 5 days. She says it gives her fantastic traction, support, comfortability and stability over her old Reebok boots.. Sorry Reebok!!! So we have decided to give it 5 stars!!!
Great price, great features!!!

Just one word to describe it.. superb performance for the price I paid for it.
The Vibram Edge outsole was provides very good grip. Break in time for the shoe was almost none too. I took it out on a tough trip on the Titiwangsa mountain range in Malaysia covering 3 mountains Yong Belar-Gayong-Korbu. It serve me well and I was happy with it's performance in terms of comfort, traction and support. Only thing is that it's not waterproof.. but that's ok!! Go get it guys.. It's really a great pair of shoe.

Nice fit, tough, can't feel nothing from sharp edges of rocks. Good water proofing, no moisture inside. I LOVE THIS BOOTS!

The boot is sufficiently rugged to stand up under a heavy multi-day pack. No problems with fit though I added an insole which cupped my heel a bit better.
The folds of the one piece tongue irritated the front of my ankles and I find myself folding them toward the front when I lace up the boot. A minor annoyance.
The price was excellent that I found.

Great boot. Very stiff and solid tread that won't slip in wet stuff. Have hiked all over New England and in Colorado - in rain, sun and snow. Very warm and stay dry with waterproofing. A little too heavy for very long treks, but overall a good hiking boot.

the boot itself was both very comfortable and reliable, however it could do with both a deeper tread, to prolong the life of the boot and slightly stiffer soles to allow the fitting of walking crampons.

Merrell's work especially well for me because I have wide feet and there's a terrible trend in footwear to crush the toes together like ballerina slippers. These boots have always been comfortable, endured the worst of extremes from Florida swamp muck to jagged mountain trails, and held up. No complaints.
