The "best describes me" above isnt even close. I am a snow dog. I live for the high mountain Colorado winter. These boots have held up surprisingly well. I have had them in below zero snow conditions and not been sorry. I wear a pair of Sorel Dominators for sedentary activities. But for cold hiking the are the cats pajamas. Purchased these for snowshoeing in the Sierra Nevada & California Cascades and general winter/snow use. They fit me decently well, considering all the trouble I have fitting boots (most of the winter boot models I've tried gave me heel blisters). The serrated tread edge seems to work well for kicking steps in snow & ice. I think the gore-tex is a bit of a crock, though. I wear vapor barrier socks, so if the boot was simply waterproof with no "breathability" they would suit me fine, provided the fit was the same. The insulation is quite thin, so these aren't very warm - that's what the vapor barriers are for (grocery store veggie bags, bread bags, etc) - that and warm socks should help. Probably these are for relatively warm winters like we have in the Sierras, not frigid extremes. Customer Service no experience Similar Products Used: Vasque Arctic, Columbia Excellerator |
