Just an update from earlier. Took these boots on the AT approach trail last week. Hiked 40 miles from Amicola falls to Blood Mountain. There was almost no flat ground, and these boots ate it up. great protection from the elements, and kept my feet nice and dry, except for water dripping in while standing around in the rain (unable to avoid). And the great thing is, is that at the Walhasi Yi center, bottom of blood mountain, they had them for $90 more then I paid for them. Great boots. Similar Products Used: none |

Great boots, bought them for $100 through Sierra trading post. Very comfortable, great looks awesome traction. I am a big man so I need lots of ankle support on the trails and these have them. Seem to fit my wide feet well too(12 D). Waterproofing is just as good as Gor-Tex. Can't beat these for Backpacking. Similar Products Used: None worth mentioning |

Most comfortable boot I've owned. Easy break in,good lining. Works ok with strap on crampons. Biggest problem, and two friends that own a pair have had the same problem to some degree; after limited use, they tend to leak where the rand joins the upper. Some serious gluing takes care of this. Otherwise, never had a blister with'em Customer Service None Similar Products Used: Pivetta 5s. You really want a review? Scarpa Eigers, a pure mountaineering boot. Solomon Advantage(?) 6s, ok, don't fit as well as the Technicas |

I viewed and reviewed boots for several months before purchasing the Tecnica Pegasus. The high ankle support was a plus for heavy packs on unsteady terrain (scree, glaciers, large rocks, etc). The instep and footbed is incredibly stiff which is great for not feeling every little pebble, but was still not too difficult to break in (about 20 miles and the boots were feeling great). The high quality one piece Italian leather is great and the waterproofing properties can not be beat. I was choosing a boot to take with me for some NOLs courses this fall/winter, and they listed this as a recommended boot. The price is average ($180). I could not find a price break anywhere on the web. I understand that customer service is supposed to rival Vasque's reputation (hopefully that is good). So far this is one of the best boots I have purchased. Hike on! Similar Products Used: Raichle and Vasque |
