I got these boots for $99, based on good reviews and their initial good fit and sturdy appearance. The first day of my trip, they kicked serious butt for 17 miles, with no problems. The second day, with my feet swelled, they ate me alive. I noticed they don't want to stay cinched around the ankles unless you torque down the laces, big time, which also proves to be uncomfortable. I really need good ankle support under heavy packload, so this was a problem for me. Needless to say, I really limped through the rest of my trip and was glad to take 'em off for awhile. They were sturdy and waterproof, though, and think they just don't fit my feet that well. Just goes to show that good fit out of the box doesn't always translate into happiness down the trail.
