I have 2 pairs of clarion impacts and 1 all leather clarion. I wear these boots every day. To work in-I'm an electrician, hike, scout, around town-everywhere! They are very comfortable and the only drawback I have found is the sole wears out faster than I would like, but this is probably due to the fact I wear them so much. While this sole lacks the traction of a vibram sole, it is adequate and doesn't get caked up with mud, adding weight. It is my understanding that you can get new soles put on. Vasque boots fit my feet like a glove and I will always have a pair. Gore-tex ones have never leaked. In my 46 years I have never found a boot that fits this good. I still wear all 3 pairs and would give this boot the highest possible rating.

To Joe in AZ. Unless you have some felt bottom boots, try to stay off the rocks when it rains - no rubber bottom boot should be expected to keep your foot from slipping on wet river rocks. Ive had a set of these for about 4 years. Great boots, but they do get toasty. As mentioned before, you begin to feel the trail if the terrain gets knobby over long distances.

Not a bad boot for day hiking in cool weather, but as a 190 pounder I find that almost any pack immediately showcases a sole that's too thin for carrying heavy loads. You start to feel every rock and root. I also concur with other reviewers who find them too warm for summer hiking. I can't say anything bad about the durability. I've used mine for about 10 years of shoulder season hiking, with and without packs, and found them bombproof. Other than rusty grommets after a decade, which I can deal with, they look pretty much as good as new.

Customer Service

The shoes are in such good shape, all I've ever done is replace the laces, so never had to deal with Vasque.

it had just rained (an exciting thing in az) so i went to Sabino Canyon. carefully stepping down to the creek i slipped on the wet rocks and clunked my head and elbow. this is the last straw!! i'm throwing out these fairly new $140 boots. comfort and stability are satisfactory (not great), but traction is atrocious. i'm going to look to the top of the ratings and spend whatever it takes for a boot that won't break my neck.

Bought my pair in ''98. Thus far I have logged about 600 miles on the A.T. & numerous miles in the Smokies with these boots. They have been great. With the help of smartwool & a good silk liner, I''ve never had a blister. They show little signs of wear. These boots are more comfortable that most sneakers & truly stand up to the most rigorous trails. For the price & comfort, I would definitely buy another pair.

An OK boot for the price, not up to heavy backpacking, but fine for the 3 day weekend, or hiking. I found them a bit warm with the lining, which was ok for the early spring, but may lead to blisters from too much moisture inside this summer. I found no problems with traction from the sole, but I have wasted knees so I tend to go slow and steady on the loose stuff.

Customer Service

I bought a pair of Vasque light hikers which had the newbuck tear where the tops flex. I returned them to Hudson Trail Outfitters who spent about 3-4 weeks going thru the warranty process. The store gave me a credit for the full retail price+tax (I actually paid less as they were on sale). I'm not sure if i was the store or vasque, but I'm a happy camper despite the turn-around time.

These boots are awesome! They are very durable, and withstand any type of abuse (hiking, backpacking, thunderstorms, technical rock climbing). Although I have dealt personally with Vasque's customer service, I have heard from others it is superior to most companies.

These boots are great for any outdoor enthusiast.

(Oh, and If you have blisters, deal with it!) Actually buy some Smartwool socks

These are great boots! I have had them for three years I wear them in the winter, spring, summer fall. I am very hard on them and the are still holding up great. I don't have the gore-tex - I simply waterproof them with silcon spray. I love them. the quality is great and a terrific value.

I've had a pair of these boots for three years now and they have been great. Not once have I gotten a blister from these boots. I have the non gore-tex lined boots so they are limited to dry weather. Not a problem in Southern Nevada. Only complaint is that the Vasque sole is not quite as grippy as a Vibram sole.

Are you kidding, these are made by Red Wing, you can never go wrong with them.

Havent had it on a long trek yet. But the shoes broke in no problem. I find them light and comforatable. Looks good too! I wore good wicking socks and have yet to get a blister. Probably a day of cutting the grass is all I did to break them in! BUT (there should always be a but), pricey.

Customer Service

I added NikWax to waterproof them. Now they are as good as GORTEX. Get em!
