got these pair for only $99 at the north face outlet in berkeley, CA; they are a little bit tight in the forefoot, but htey are a nice midweight pair of hikers. needs a bit of breaking in, but afterwards, they are nice and stiff.

You wouldn't even know that these were hiking boots. They are pretty lightweight compared to other boots i've owned.Just because they're light doesn't mean they're not tough, After pounding miles of trail they still look and feel great. If your going to invest in a pair of boots , Buy these!!!!

I've owned these vasques for years and they're great. Totally waterproof for spring stream crossings and snow. Starting to get worn soles after three of non-stop use working construction!

Owned my pair for about a year. Breaking them in took a while, but they're still getting better with age. The only complaint I have is they don't breathe as well as the desert demands. These boots are keepers. Buy 'em.

Best boots I have ever owned. I have had 2 pairs in the last 12 years (grew out of the first pair). These boots are tough, conformable, and sturdy. Gore-Tex failed about a year ago, I just don’t swim with them on now. After 6 years, my boots are in need of some help, but I can't find a new pair anywhere! Help! Wouldn’t trade them for anything.

I have a narrow heal and these boots fit very well. I would consider them a low volume boot. I got back aches the after the first two hikes with these boots. I added Superfeet and the back aches disappeared. My only complaint is that my feet tend to sweat a lot, which is probably due to the Goretex. I live in the desert and it gets pretty hot out hear, unfortunately Vasque didn't make a non-Goretex Skywalk. I have had the boots for 2 yrs and they have held up well. I would purchase another pair if they didn't have Gortex. However, I did notice that Vasque is making more of their boots in China. Too bad.

Customer Service

I called their customer service line and the staff was friendly and answered my technical questions.

They skywalk is a great boot, especially for mid-level backpacking. The gore tex keep your feet dry and cozy, and the cordura patches make the boots very durable. They are cut a little different from the sundowner, but are still an awesome boot. Mine survived a nasty day-hike through a chest deep bog!

Great boot overall. Good comfort and fit. Sole has lasted incredible amount of miles, decent traction. Has remained waterproof for over 2 yrs.

I think the boots are awesome. I bought a pair of boots earlier this year for a trek in Thailand. The reason I bought them were they were the only boot on the market that are made for narrow long feet men, are fairly lightweight, and are waterproof. When combined with Superfeet they make a very comfortable boot for trekking in S.E. Asia's muddy, hot, humid mucky conditions. For those that say there feet are hot and sweaty with this boot, I would suggest trying a different sock, rather than a different boot. I use SmartWool Expedition socks, and they keep my feet cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. In extreme hot conditions or heavy packing conditions, I suggest adding polypropolene liners. The boots are a little pricey in my size and width, but well worth the expense knowing that my feet do not hurt.

Customer Service

The Vasque customer service is really incredible. I wanted a pair of 11.5 Narrow earlier this year, and couldn't find them anywhere in the US. I e-mailed the company knowing I would probably never hear from them. A rep from Vasque called me within two hours of my e-mail saying he had located my size in a small store in California, and had called the store to make sure they had my size in stock. I was blown away that a company cared enough to do that much research to find me a pair of boots.

I actually wear my skywalks every day. These boot hold up great. I am now one year into my second pair, the first pair lasted two years (resoled once) of everyday wear. I appreciate having the goretex in the winter. Great support for hiking in mountains.
