I don''t really know why so many people give this bag bad reviews. I am a big guy, 6''3" 200lbs and I fit in this bag with no problems at all. It is warm, lofts like crazy, durable, water resistant (dryloft), packs small, lightweight, an excellent 3+ season bag. Yeah the price is high, but even if I bought it at full price it will probably be the last bag I will buy. Other quality down bags manufacturers like western mountaineering and feathered friends are just as costly but no one complains about their prices! You get what you pay for, and in this case you get an extremely durable, light, and especially warm bag. I am extremely pleased with this bag and recommend it to anyone.

A true climber's bag. Extreemelly light for the temperature rating. Very well made. The quality is there. May not be the right bag for you backpackers who want the room of a TNF or Marmot bag. Get the expander for a significant increase in girth. Looks funky but it works.

A great extra light bag. The 775 down fill is wonderful and makes for a super small sized bag. Mountain Hardware quality is evident everywhere. My only complaints are the zipper is not full length (it stops about 15"" short of the end) and the DryLoft material is very noisy whenever you move. When your toes overheat, you can't ventilate and the crackling material might drive your tent mate crazy!

I used my girlfriend's Cheops. It's extremely weel made, but its a little confining for me. I checked the specs and see that its only 61"" girth at the shoulder. No wonder its so light.

Customer Service

I called Mt.Hardware and asked about this problem. They said that the made an expander because of this vary problem. Nice of them to be so honest. They also suggested I try there Mammoth model as it is much wider.

I made a mistake with this bag. I spent the extra money on DryLoft. DryLoft may be breathable, but not nearly enough for my metabolism. I woke up as wet as if it I had been rained on in a regular bag. Don't pull the bag over your head as your breath has moisture. It's a little on the snug side, but that's how they cut the weight so low.

Not as nice as my old North Face Sierra.

An extremely well made bag, but uncomfortablely tight fitting.Check the fit before you buy. If you're slender and don't toss and turn, this is the bag for this temperature rating.

I exchanged this for a Marmot Massif. It's heavier than the Mnt.Hdw. but much roomier.

This bag is great all-around. The dry-loft is a no-brainer choice and has kept the bag from being overcome buy moister in the tent. Contruction and durability have been awsome. One thing I like but have not tried out is the upgrade option. It appears that it would be nice to extend this into the 4th season. Also, the zipper works flawlessly, without grabbing fabric.

Can it be any better than here?

Very nice bag. Excellent construction. Should have a full length zipper. It's on the snug side, so it's not for a big person.

A bag that I wish I had bought instead is the Western Mountaineering Antelope DL. Very comparable and a little roomier. Slightly lighter and a few bucks less.
