Anyone who has done any winter camping in the Colorado high country knows how quickly the weather can turn bitterly cold. The Tioga bag with the Stormlight shell has come through for me every time. It is very warm and compresses nicely. Having the weather resistant shell is a definite big plus that allows me to go tentless in situations that I may not have done before. Customer Service Excellent! I had a Mountain Hardwear Brand New Bag that I purchased about 4 years ago that was not working out for me. I contacted the company and they gave me the full purchase price I paid for the old bag and that is why the Tioga was only $125. Similar Products Used: Mountain Hardwear Brand New Bag |

Great bag! I've had mine for about 2 years and have never been dissapointed. It even kept me warm during a -30 degree night (-20 in the tent) on a snowshoe trip last winter! I'm a warm sleeper but that still says a lot about its quality. Customer Service Mated with the Mountain Hardware down upgrade, this gives you a complete 4 season sleeping bag system. I worked with a local mountaineering shop and got a super deal which put the price for this bag and the down upgrade for what it would have been for many other single 0 degree down bags. Similar Products Used: I looked at Marmot, Western Mountaineering, The North Face, and have rented many other bags before this one. |

It's a great bag! Like most MH products, it's also a little high in cost. But like almost all of my MH gear, it's made to last! I've been using my Stormlight version for all my trips above 12,000ft... and it has kept me warm all the way down to -20, easy! Customer Service One important item I always like to pointout about MH is their customer services. They're very helpful and fast to act on any problems. I have always gotten quick response from their CS, from exchange to repair. Similar Products Used: The only other bag I like next to the Tioga is the Marmot Couloir, which is also a great bag in the same temp range. The Dryloft feature on the Couloir is comparable to the Stormlight for keeping the bag dry. The only draw back on the Couloir is the price, with 775 down fill... you get what you pay for. |

mountain hardware bag with stormlight protection- just returned from 6 night float trip on smith river in central montana where the proximity to the water (whether from the sky or the river) makes dampness a constant possibility---I had no problem with dampness in the bag despite the north face tent showing the dampness on the underside of the fly each night. Driving back from montana through nevada I slept in the horse trailer gooseneck 30 miles north of Ely, Nv and the temp was well below anything in Montana the prior week, and the bag provided the necessary warmth to confirm its reliability---a suggestion for those larger folks--buy the extender that can be zipped into the bag and give you 6" of added shoulder room when on your side. Similar Products Used: my last comparable bag was a north face superlight that i still have 38 years later and my 12 year old daughter now has confiscated for her personal use. |

Mountain Hardware's quality comes through in this bag. You can count on their temperature ratings because they use such good quality down. Zipper works smoothly. Mosquito net stored in hood is a nice touch, although one is not likely to need it if the temperature drops low enough to really need this bag (it's rated to 5 degrees). Very comforrable. Light (about 3 lbs 5 oz) and compressible. A little pricey, but this is the kind of equipment that will last your whole life if you take care of it. I use a cotton sleep sheet so I won't need to wash the bag so often, and I store it by hanging it on the loop. If you need a bag in this temp range and can handle the bucks, you won't go wrong with this one. Similar Products Used: I also have a North face Superlight and Lightrider. |
