I had 1.5 years of heavy use, over 70 nights of use and this bag lost its loft and became uncomfortable @ 35 degrees. I asked REI to take it back, they did and fully credited me. So I purchased their 15 degree Down Time bag and I am one satisfied REI customer. I can not say enough about their service and inherent commitment to making their customers satisfied. Customer Service Firdt Class, none better Similar Products Used: Sub Kilo bag by REI is now my favorite after a 75 mile trek in the Rockies when temps got down to 20 degrees. I love the Pertex shell and the weight (less than 2.2 lbs) of this 700 fill bag. My 6'4" son used the Down Time long on the same trip and I do not think I will ever get it back from him. |

This bag probably would not suit most folks at its 15degree rating.I have slept in it at O farenheight and was fine, but I sleep very warm.Have had the bag for 2yrs and it is losing some loft,I use it mostly as a summer and fall bag now.My main complaint is the storm gusset that runs the entire length of the zipper, makes it a real pain in the #%@ to zip. But this is common with all REI bags.Size and fit are adequate although Im 5ft8in and have a long bag which would be cramped for someone 6ft or more. Customer Service REI always gives excellent service. Similar Products Used: Too numerous to mention. |

I bought this bag this last winter and used it for three winter nights. One sub-zero night, one 15 deg. F night, and one 35 deg night. On the 35 deg night, I used the bag alone and froze. The zipper is horrible too. Although the bag is light but I can hardly fit my shoulders in the long bag and I am only 6' tall. Customer Service REI has good customer service. I have the new 99 bag. I've only used this bag about 12 nights on 2 trips to the northwest. I am a very cold sleeper and have not ever had a more comfortable and warm nites sleep. I know there were some problems with the past models of this bag. Seems REI has corrected these. If you want a warm roomie bag at a very good price. Check this one out. Customer Service Rei's customer's service is second to none. If for any reason your not happy with a product. They will fix it. Similar Products Used: northface, Kelty |

I've used this bag now 18 mos. ('98 model). On the plus side, it's roomy (long version), and very lightweight for it's rating. On the negative side, when it was cold AND humid, this bag gave up for me at about 25 degrees. The next time, I used a liner and it was fine. I agree with other comments that I don't see this bag holding up for more than about 3 years, and I think I still prefer down if you can keep it dry. Customer Service Have been an REI member since '82. None better. Similar Products Used: Various down bags. |

Hi. I wasn't going to write in until I saw the negative reviews of the bag. The pre 1999 bags must have had problem which are no longer apparent. I used a '99 bag over four weeks of meandering across the US, and the coldest night I had was in Utah where it must have been ~20 degree F. I slept outside my tent with the bag zipped up around my face and had no idea it was as cold as it was until I stepped out of the bag to get dressed. I ended up putting on most of the clothes I'd brought and was still freezing. No problems with durability, no perceptible difference when it got mildly wet in a rainstorm. I love my bag :) Customer Service Probably the best I've encountered. Friendly, no pressure, extremely helpful, knowledgable. |

I've used this bag for around 5 years now and have been generally satisfied. The fit has been roomy enough for minor tossing and turning. I've haven't tested the bag to the +15 rating, but it's been comfortable down into the low 20's. The bag has proven durable after many many trips. Finally, it's light and very packable.
