How it works: the bag is thicker on one side, thinner on the other. Heat rises. You figure itout from here.
I am 6'4" and allergic to constrictive sleeping bags. This one is fits very nicely. It is a hair heavier than a mummy becaues it is cut a little fuller, but it is polar guard 3D filled so it is true to its warmth rating.
It will zip together with a matching bag to make a roomy playpen -- you don't feel like you and the other person are tied together.

got two (a long and a reg.) at the REI garage sale, brand new, for $40 each. Yeah!

I'm giving value and quality ratings based on my purchase price and highly idiosyncratic sleeping bag preferences.

Great bag if you like extra room and ability to stretch out. I looked for a long time to find a bag that I didn't feel cramped in. The problem was, I didn't want to spend full price to get it. I finally opted for the promotional sale at Campmor offering the bag with a 3/4 sleep mat at regular price (sleep mat was free). No regrets with either. I did see that this bag on sale recently when surfing the net, but can't remember where....$129, which is a great price. The different temperature ratings seem to be just the ticket for me since I could only afford one good bag to use for Scouting during winter and spring/fall camping. The coldest night so far was around 24 degrees and with a knit cap I had no problems and stayed warm as ever. I haven't tried it in the summerd but Im sure it's too hot for summer use in the South. As for size, I decided on the long version for use in winter so it would be big enough to get down inside and still have the extra room to stretch out. It packs just as small as the regular. As for workmanship and materials, the polyester lining works great. No sticky, sweaty feeling at all. The outer shell is a thin lightweight fabric that fools you. It's tougher than it looks. If I wasn't making an attempt at backing I'd probably buy another one since they are now on sale... just to have an extra. Again, it's a great bag and has worked out well.

Customer Service

Everthing I've ordered from Campmor has been top-notch. No problems with questions, support or returns. Good customer service.

I bought this bag because it has 2 temperatures. With one side up it's a +15. Flip it over and it's a +30. I'm not really sure this works. Even in cooler temperatures I'm still too hot. I do like the fact that it's a roomier bag. You pay for it in weight, but for most of my trips I'll sacrifice the weight for the extra room. Lastly, it doesn’t have a mummy top. Not suggested if you plan on doing any cold-weather camping.
