I've had the bag for about 4 years, have used it in some cold weather, nothing extreme and have not been disappointed. I use a liner, 55 degree and a pad and the two work well to adjust for the weather, hot or cold. The bag lofts quickly and is not too confining. It also carries well, little over 2 lbs and compresses to the size of a loaf of bread. Customer Service The North Face has always served me well. Paid: CDN$239 for TNF Hot Tamale size Long Purchased this sleeping bag at a liquidation sale. First use was in November 2003 at -5C (in a lean-to) and it was warm and comfortable (bag is rated to -9C). Attention to detail is very good and quality is excellent. Found one or two very small pin-feathers worked their way through the shell but this is not unusual in a down bag or garment (see the Feathered Friends web-site). The down fill lofts very quickly and the fabric's hand is soft and silky. The down is evenly distributed in four separate zones (top, bottom, left and right sides) to minimize down migration. It weighs 2 lbs 12 ounces (size Long) and compresses into a very small stuffsack. Customer Service I purchased a TNF Cat's Meow over twenty years ago. A few years later the Polarguard fill would no longer provide any useful loft. TNF replaced it no-charge. Excellent service. Similar Products Used: TNF Cat's Meow EMS Mt. Robson |

It has all the specifics of a great bag, but i have had a continual problem with the down poking through the shell, which i have heard and read is pretty common. Overall, its got all the great features of a nice sleeping bag, it just doesnt have the quality i expect with TNF! I would not try and get another one unless TNF gave it to me for free Customer Service havent tried yet but certainly will Similar Products Used: ferrino hl micro, rei sub kilo |

This bag is very cozy and warm, the down fluffs right up. Weighs under 3 lbs. My only concern is that few feathers found their way thru the nylon. Another guy is having a similar problem. I''ve heard this is normal but I might have to return it to TNF if it continues to leak down. Otherwise its a good bag. Customer Service Haven''t dealt with The North Face yet Similar Products Used: Performance/Kelty tourlite 35deg bag |

This a nice cozy bag, light too, but the first one I got came w/ 3 holes in it and was leaking some pretty big clusters of down. After sending it back for another I got the next right before a 10/11 day trek. Great timing right? sure but this one was worse. It had down sticking out of all the seams and it had a few holes that leaked some major clusters. I might try a Feathered Friends or Muntain Hardware to replace the thing. This is a very very good sleeping bag. the down is sooo soft and it fluffs right up. the shell is solid, though i have not tested it in wet circumstances i doubt it will perform fabulously but good enough. the hood is very nice as well. the zipper zips up w/ surprisingly few snags. almost none. this is a very nice sleeping bag if you want a light, well built, extremely comfortable, and a sleeping bag not built for monsoons the hot tamale is for you. the 800 series down is outta this world.
