I've owned my Ultralight for three years and used it under various conditions. It has proven to be a fantastic bag. Super light weight, puffs up big and very warm. Great quality workmanship and conveint design - no snag zippers and funcitonal hood. WM qauality is unmatched. The main thing is, you just can't beat the weight/warmth ratio of this bag.

Made of light weight materials, so I take extra care with it, but I have experienced no defects or signs of wear in three years.

Especially recommended for the weight conscious packer who cares about quality workmanship. Wouldn't recommend it to careless packers or those who want a super rugged bag. Also, it is snug, so if that's a concern, you might prefer a larger-cut WM bag. The stuff bag is a little big (I just put my pillow in the bag with it).

While other manufactures keep adding bells and whistles, secret stuff areas and ridiculous features to their bags, Western Mountaineering quietly designs and manufactures the lightest, most intelligently designed, durable and warmest bags on the planet - all right here in the USA! They cost just a bit more but they're worth it!

After looking at countless other manufactures bags, I finally set my sites on WM and figured the Apache was the way to go. Then I saw this amazing blue bag hanging at the shop I frequent and I just froze. It was the WM Ultralite. Tried it on (snug yet very comfortable), stuffed and weighed it (1 lb. 14oz with stuff sack), considered it's 3 season rating (25 degrees) and decided I had to have it. Manager made me a great deal and I've been a happy man! The workmanship and design of my Ultralite bag is amazing. The extremely light fabric allows the 700 down to fully loft the bag in seconds, even if it's been stuffed for more than 24 hours. The zipper NEVER snags, the hood fits like a dream and it's no-nonsense design is a breath of fresh air. I've had it to 40 degrees and slept like a baby with the bag fully un-zipped! MN's rating of 25 degrees seems to be accurate if not a bit conservative. There have been a few "poke-throughs", a possible price to pay for such lightweight fabric, but nothing more than I would consider normal. I paid a bit more for this bag, but I feel like I got my moneys worth and then some. Highly recommended to an experienced backpacker looking to lighten his/her load. Way to go Western Mountaineering!

Outstanding! This is the best piece of outdoor gear of any sort I've ever owned. It's light (under 2 pounds) warm (accurately rated to 25F), well designed and well made. One example of the thought that went into this bag is the fabric is stiffer along the zipper so that the zipper won't snag. The bag is made of a very light weight nylon, but I haven't found any problem with durability after well over a dozen backpacking trips. It's lofts up very well.

The closest thing to a criticism I can come up with is that I'd like a smaller stuff sack. I balked at the price initially and bought several inferior bags first. I don't plan on buying another sleeping bag for a long time.

As an aside, this bag "mates" well with Sierra Designs bags. They both use the same size and type of zipper.
