MSR WhisperLite Internationale 600 Stove Stoves

MSR WhisperLite Internationale 600 Stove Stoves

DESCRIPTION

Whether it's white gas, kerosene, jet fuel or automobile gasoline, the Whisperlite Internationaleâ„¢ takes it all and burns it easily. The secret is in the large diameter fuel line that lets you burn poor-quality fuel with less maintenance or cleaning than other so-called multi-fuel stoves. Like the Whisperlite Shaker Jet Stove, the Whisperlite Internationaleâ„¢ features a Shaker Jet needle, which automatically pushes out any excess fuel debris with a simple flick of the wrist.

Great for international backcountry adventures, backpacking, mountaineering, kayaking and camping

Windscreen, heat reflector, fuel pump and reusable stuff sack included 14 oz. (400 g.)

This has been nothing but trouble. After having two replaced on warranty, finally decided to try another.

great stove, light, burns hooot, hotter than the dragonfly, very efficent, best stove I've used, had no problems except when set at an angle pots tend to want to slide off but this can be rectify by using corse sand paper and sanding the bottom of the pot and sanding where the pot sits on the stove

This stove is a great one. Easy maintenance, work very well everywhere even in very cold weather (-20 celsius)cheap to use (16 oz of white gas for 8 meals, mainly boiling water) and we can use it with so many different fuels. The only problem i have with it is that it is difficult to have a simmer, you need to practice a lot in the field to acheive it.

This is an outstanding stove. It took me a few tries to figure out how to get the thing started. When it's priming, the flame burns pretty high. Once you figure out this out, the thing is easy to start and burns strong. No real simmer on it, but I'm usually just boling water.

This stove is good but not great. The stove is light, small, and cooks food. The pump unit is susceptible to break, so be carefull. This stove will get the the food cooked, maybe even over cooked, but don't expect any of the bells and whistles you may find on some of the higher priced units.

Customer Service

I did break my msr pump, and the company promptly sent me a new one free of charge.

A flawless stove for backpackers. No simmer option though so a pair of pliers help to cook in the field. Boiling water takes little time at all.

I went Backpacking during a weekend in October. I found this stove to be really useful for boiling water. It burns hotter than anything else I've used.I didn't have any real trouble getting the stove to simmer. It takes little adjustments with the control valve and low pressure in the fuel bottle. I used a 22oz bottle of white gas and it went for at least three hours before running out. The stove was worth every cent! Anyone who is thinking about getting one, or already has one, I really recommend getting the Mighitylite stove stand. It helps in keeping the stove level and kept everything together nicely.

I have also used the MSR Dragonfly. What a great stove for cooking anything and everything!

OK. I love this stove. It's light, fuel-efficient, and sturdy. Despite complaints from others that one cannot simmer on this stove, I have had no problem with simmering. I also have not found mine to be as "loud" as many claim this stove to be. I've had a few flare-ups -- practice and proficiency took care of that. It's a bit difficult to operate for me when my fingers are numb with cold -- teeny elements are a distinct disadvantage here. To get started with cooking faster when reaching camp, I have carried it with the fuel bottle still attached to the stove with much success -- kinda convenient if you're lazy (...or cold). I've used this stove for 8 years of fairly heavy use and it's holding up great. I would NOT trust myself to field clean this stove (especially at night) due to its tiny, easily misplaced parts and I have on a few occasions had to deal with clogs in the field. Crunchy ramen in the dark from time to time is good for the soul, I believe.
