I originally bought this pack to use on overnight trips instead of the teraplane OK i own as that seemed to be just too much for quick weekend jaunts. After 2 or 3 trips out I out the pack aside for a while and returned to using the larger pack as it sat weight better and was easier to pack for these short trips. Recently as i began climbing again is S Illinois, i took all my school books out of the pack and decided to return it to real service hauling climbing gear and all i can say is i should have never stopped packing it. with a rope, 2 harnesses and all the hardware needed for climbing, it sat on my back comfortcably. AS it was small and didnt affect my balance at all i was able to scramble up and down some areas with the pack on. Ive even accidentily dropped it off a 25m face packed full of stuff. When i rapelled down to get it with my extra rope it somehow survived the fall without even a scratch or loose stitch. All i have to say is WoW a little pricey but a great lil day pack. I found my Shadow Peak for $145. It seemed a bit pricey to me, but a friend wouldn't stop ranting and raving about his Shadow Peak. This is a great little pack--I typically haul from 30-50 lbs of stuff in it for 3-4 months at a stretch. The adjustability and the beavertail shovit pocket are this pack's strengths. It's a bit shy on room, but you can easily attach those little 500 cu. in. auxiliary pockets to the side of this pack and expand its carrying capacity. The Dana suspension system is amazing--even carrying up to 50 lbs, the weight is VERY well distributed and the only fatigue I ever feel is in my knees (where you would feel it with ANY pack). The only thing I don't like about it is the fact that it's a top-loader--something I had never owned, and it's doubtful I'd buy another one. After all, if you want something out of the bottom of the bag, you have to unload the damned thing just to get it. If I had to do it all over again, I'd still get a Dana, but perhaps a slightly bigger one that is side-opening. If you're looking for a small pack (and can stand a top-opener), though, I highly recommend this one. Similar Products Used: None |

I bought a Shadow Peak a year ago to take with me on a trip to Acadia National Park Maine. I was looking for a day pack that would hold enough gear for an overloaded hike comfortably. The Shadow Peak did the trick. This pack is plenty big for a day hike and large enough for an overnight. This is the most comfortable day pack I have ever owned and I intend for it to be the last one I buy. Also Dana is a great company and makes the most comfortable packs out there. If you need a day pack and have the money buy a Shadow Peak. Customer Service Dana has an ironclad warranty and if something is wrong they will fix it. Don't worry, I've never heard about a Dana breaking. Similar Products Used: None |

Excellent pack without a doubt. This little pack has been all over the world with me and has been through some serious abuse with no sign of weakness. Customer Service To the person who rated this pack poorly...you apparently don't know how to pre-fit a pack and you just buy stuff and hope it works out for you. Your trouble with the Shadow Peak is due to your lack of foresight. I'm 5'11" and the pack works great for me. I knew it would before I left the shop with it. Similar Products Used: None |

Ive been married to Mt. Smith for years. One year ago the zippers failed on my existing pack. I bought the Shadow Peak to travel to Germany last summer. I then road 800 miles in 10 days from Dusseldorf, Germany to Goteberg, Sweden on my MTB with only this pack. Thruogh heavy rain and hot sun the pack survived. Dana Design rules. The shoulder straps are the best on the market and construction is 110% all the way through. No worries with Dana. Customer Service Service is honest, friendly and ready to please and help you. Truly the ultimate daypack. The only one with a genuine suspension and a real hip belt. The difference is astronomical. You get a daypack the carries like a big expedition pack, that you can fearlessly overload without concern that you'll be suffering back agonies by the 5th mile. You can feel the system contouring to your body. Build quality is absolutely impeccable, and they don't get too gadgety on you. Great Pack! The only size pack that I have found that has a real hipbelt! Fits great and you could easily haul 35 or more lbs. Nice for day trips or maybe even an overnighter! It evenly distributes the weight and I would highly recommend it. Right now you can get them for $101.97 at select internet dealers near you! Happy Hiking! Similar Products Used: None |

This is a perfect size pack for a day hike or a short overniter. I bought this pack because of the good internal suspension and hip belt. It worked great on an over nite mountain bike trip. Very comfortable and balancedfor the ride Similar Products Used: None |
