This is a high ouput tent. You put out alot of green for it. But when you get into a good snowstorm the Fitzroy will put out for you. In the snow or on the dirt this tent is very stable in winds and can support big snow load. I know you can put three people in this tent, in a pinch, but thats only in a pinch. If its wet or snowing out, some of your gear needs to come in and there just is no room for more than two with any gear, if you want to eat, dress, or just have a cup of Joe. On the mountain you also need the vestabule to cover your packs oc light your stove in. Condesation on the Todtex fabric just doesn't happen, which is great if its wet out. And with two doors ventilation is outstanding. |

Strength:
None
Weakness:
None I’ve used this tent 3 times. 2 days in sub zero weather that turned into freezing rain, 1-week Isle Royal, and 4 days Pictured Rocks. I will not use this tent; unless I know it is going to Rain or Snow. Buyers of this tent should be aware; this tent is a winter tent. Pros: + Incredibly waterproof. On my winter trip, rain filled the pit with 1-inch water, I never knew. + Tent is very light. + Amazing wind resistance. + 1 person can pitch it. + The fluffy lining prevents condensation from dripping. Cons: + When you are wet, cold, tired, and it is dark, this tent is aweful to pitch. Due to varying poles and a complicated retaining do-dads. + The eyebrow connecters for the internal poles broke twice. I now carry a spare. + The poles inside the tent WILL sweat. + Outrageously expensive. Customer Service I can’t say enough good things about Black Diamond (BD). They replaced the eyebrow connecters w/o question and paid for S&H twice. BD Support is unparallel! Similar Products Used: Alps, North Face, and Kelty, Sierra Designs |
