Stay clear. For a couple years now I've been sending people off looking for a Coleman tent. Their designs are great, especially the wrap-around heavy-duty floor. But this tent is junk. Had I looked at the box closer, I would have seen the obvious design flaw: the rain fly ends about three feet short of both ends of the tent. When it rained, the water couldn't help but run straight in through the breathable material. Later we also noticed water collecting in the corners of the windows, and entering there. Coleman still makes alot of great tents, but this isn't one of them! |

I have been really disappointed with this tent. I would not use it again, and would not recommend it to anybody. My main grip is that it doesn't do the basic thing a tent should do - that is 'provide shelter'. I like most things about the design (though some things are just plain silly), it goes up quickly even with one person, BUT it doesn't provide shelter.
Customer Service We contacted coleman and told them of our experience and their 'guaranteed' weather tec system. They have offered to refund the tent price. We haven't yet finalised the transaction, but their service department was positive. |

Have been camping for 20+ years and this is by far the best tent we have ever owned. We just bought our second one because over the summer we wore out the first one we bought. This is a very well engineered and manufactured tent. Once you go through the "first time hassles" of putting it up, from that point forward it takes no more than 10 minutes to set it up or tear it down. This is the first tent we've owned that did NOT get blown down during high winds---it is extremely stable. We never had a leak, even though we never reinforced the seams. (We do recommend you Scotchguard the outside, though, just to ensure you don't get any "through the wall" seepage during heavy rain storms.) It does have a few irritating things about it, but nothing severe. The flap over the main entrance acts as a rain catcher during storms, and if you don't take the flap down it will channel the water down to the base of the tent right by the opening of the main door. It won't hold 8 people, as the box says. However, it will hold five adults and all their gear quite comfortably. You have to keep an eye on the area around the stake hooks...if any area of the tent will tear, it's the area around those hooks. So long as you keep an eye on it, you'll be able to reinforce any stressed areas before they become full blown tears. Customer Service Never had to use it. For that matter, have never had any problems with Coleman products. |

This tent is the ultimate! I have encountered several storms since I began using it, and no leaks! This tent is roomy, and has great height in the center. It takes me about 10 min to set up alone. I recommend this tent to anybody who wants a large, tall, dry place to sleep at night Customer Service I have never used it, because I have never had a problem with Coleman products Similar Products Used: I had a Coleman Montana, and it was a awesome tent. I just need more interior height. I have also used cheapie tents from wal mart, and I should have just slept outside. |

The first time we had this tent out, we had hard thunderstorms. I hadn't even gotten the chance to seal the seams. The tent was incredible. No leakage at all. It held up great. You need to take down the front awning when it is raining to prevent water from sitting on it and weighing it down, but that isn't even a complaint. It is easy to put up, easy to take down. A great tent. Don't expect it to sleep 8 people though. Great for about 4 people if you want to be able to use the middle room as storage and to change clothes. The center height makes it nice too. |
