An excellent tent overall. I have the XT version and it works great for backpacking as it weights a little over 5 lbs. It held up well in the winter and I had no problems with it when I went camping during a torrential downpour with high winds. Easily set up and torn down. Since I am over 6 feet tall, I must agree with the other reviewer that it can be difficult getting out in the morning. Similar Products Used: None |

excellent all around tent, probably the best compromise between a 3 and 4 season tent I've seen. Mine weighs closer to 7lbs than the 6lbs advertised. Still, it is offers alot for its weight. It is a close fit for two people, and the vestibule has just barely enough room to hold all their gear. The 2 doors are a bonus (but the rear escape hatch is on the smaller side). Setup is easy (I've even been able to setup the tent while under the fly during rainy weather). Stormproofness is good, but it hasn't seen anything serious enough to test its limits. It vents better than some three season tents. It also packs down smaller than most three season tents. Customer Service A bent pole (which was totally my bad) was replaced for $20. Tips on guying out the tent were offered with no trouble via e-mail. Similar Products Used: Eureka Timberline |

HARDY tent. A frame construction stands up to serious winds;and downpours. Lightweight for it's strength. It's rated for a 3 1/2 season; but it works well. haven't used it snow camping, but imagine it would hold up ok. Similar Products Used: None |

This tent has good protection and is fairly lightweight for a 3 1/2 season tent. Also 1 person can set it up very quickly. SUPER STRONG! Similar Products Used: None |

I have to agree with the previous reviewer. The Alpenlite is one fabulous tent. I was looking at tents from many, many manufacturers including Bibler, Integral Designs, Moss, Sierra Designs, Mountain hardware, Marmot, TNF, etc. The Alpenlite is remarkably lighter in weight than many other 3.5 to 4 season two person tents, has convertible features and is larger in square ft and vestibule that I initially thought. The material is first class as is the construction. Two doors! Inc. mesh, a nice open/closed panel on top makes this tent totally non-claustrophobic. It seam sealed very quickly as most of the tent and tarp were factory sealed. The one downside is the tent pegs but these can easily be replaced with Eastons. The set-up has been easy and straight forward and it has handled the rain and light mositure well. Wind just rolls over and not through this tent and given any price vs, value comparison, the Alpenlite just might be the best tent in its class for the money. I'm sure that it will handle almost any conceivable weather nature will throw at it, including high altitude storms. I was also impressed at the amount of space re: height in the tent. I was easily able to sit upright. Now that's important when the weather hits. Customer Service N.A. Similar Products Used: Moss, TNF, Marmot, Mtn Hardware, Eureka. |

Wow. After reading such glowing reviews, I had high expectations for this tent. Thankfully, after my inital set-up, my expectations were met. This tent rocks! Easy to assemble, quality materials, fairly light weight for a 3 1/2 season tent, good dimensions, and plenty of vestibule space. The price makes this tent a steal. Bibler's are nice... but come on... $600.00 for a tent? Not on most peoples salary. The Alpenlite is a great tent - buy it. Similar Products Used: None |

IMHO-This is the best mountaineering tent on the market FOR THE MONEY.All things considered, especially WEIGHT,the 2xt stands alone.I am a total gear freak, and of course I'd rather have a Bibler or Moss, but I ain't got that kinda scratch!!So along come the good people of Eureka! to save my butt in extreme weather for a paltry two bills. Thanks guys!
