Just got back from a lond weekend with this tent. It is a wonderful tent. Easy to set up and break down and great quality. Well thought out design. In the morning with the fly/rain cover on in direct sun it gets too hot to sleep (I didn't have a choice of spots or shade to set up in). I Highly recoment this tent. Also as a side note I just bought a Therma-rest Trail-Lite sleeping pad, that thing is amazingly comfortable to sleep on. Customer Service not used |

I love this tent. I bought it two years ago and never had a problem with it during extended rafting/canoeing trips. It's main quality: it is extremely fast and easy to sent it up - quality that I really appreciated during rainy days. It offers plenty of room for two people and gear, and in spite of a few strong storms it always kept me and my gear dry. Cons: it is a little bit heavy for a backpacking trip. But for a river trip I found it PERFECT! |

i am stealing this tent from my father, its worth its weight in gold. i recently returned from a weeklong trip, and it started raining while we were in the parking lot. The ride home was when it stopped. 6 days of nonstop rain, and i never had to worry about getting cold or wet, i knew that i would be ok. when one of the girls with us was starting to go hypothermic on me, i knew that i could set up my tent in a matter of seconds, and it would be dry. granted this tent is cramped and small, but with two people in it that are experienced, its plenty of room. the vestibles are great because i always leave the door open, even in a down pour. i always stay dry too. this affords me great ventilation and a place to put things like waterbottles and boots, so i can get them in the night. a rope strung across the top area a couple of times makes a great drying rack too. all in all, i have never had a tent that as much a joy to use, and im taking it from my dad, he doesnt use it anymore :) Customer Service never had to use the customer service, its always been in great shape Similar Products Used: eureka timberline( only buy if you like being wet) mountain hardwear, northface, ll bean, canvas baker tent( my other favorite, for weekend fun stuff) |

I have the 4XT, so I'm assuming the 2XT is just the smaller version. The 4XT is awesome! Pros: two doors, two good-sized vestibules, spacious (as with all tents, the rating is high - I wouldn't stick 4 people in there but you could), good fly coverage, good ventilation (but average "stuffiness" with the fly on), if backpacking, it breaks down well between 2-3-4 people. Made it through sleet and heavy rain without a hitch. Cons: heavy (but worth it!), replace the stakes with lighter ones to save some weight if backpacking. If car camping, this is the perfect 2-3 person tent! You should always, always seal the seams on your tent, no matter what make or model! Customer Service Haven't had to use it. I have the new version of this tent, with one door, called the "Rainier". It has the same floor dimensions (5'x7'6") and aluminum poles. You cannot get a better tent for the money. It weighs in at 4 lbs, 12 oz, has a full fly w/ one huge vestibule and one small one on the other side (there's a zippable small window where the other door was). Although I have not had it in high-wind areas, I have had it in hard rain and it worked perfectly. The new poles are very small (14 inches) and very light. It fits perfectly into my pack and at under 5 lbs, you can't beat it. For a tent for one person and all your gear, or two people...it's perfect. It had a retail of $150 and I got it on sale for $104..can't beat that. Similar Products Used: North Face (their new aluminum pole insert design is bad...if you get any debris in it, it's made so tight that you can't get the poles attached to the corners), Winnebago (old tent...lasted 15 years), REI Camp Dome 6 (another excellent tent for light weather use) |

Awesome tent. It's the only tent I own and I use it for everything, and it takes it all. I've slept out in gale force blizzards and been fine. only complaint; the fly is nylon so if not properly set up it sags when wet. Great value, mine is four years old and still waterproof. Bought the Eureka MP XT 2 about 3 years ago in preparation to a trip to Brazil that did not happen. I've been using it for backpacking all over the US and in Europe and it has been holding out very well. I think I set it up and tore it down at least 60-70 times so far, and spent many more nights in it. I like the light weight, waterproofness and versatility. It makes a huge 1 person tent and more than adequante 2 person tent. On warm nights the ventilation is not the greatest if you keep the vestibules closed. I waterproofed the rainfly and added a ground sheet to the stuff sack. Luckily, the stuff sack was large enough to accomodate the extra bulk. Similar Products Used: None |
